Walking, Exploring and Coffee in Blackbutt Nature Reserve: New Lambton

Details
Join me for a leisurely outdoors walk through the tall trees forest of Blackbutt Reserve. If you’re new in town this is an ideal time to discover one of Newcastle’s most loved bushland environments and cultural icons. We’ll also enjoy the adventure of meeting and learning about the resident koalas, wombats, wallabies and emus, as well as the roaming peacocks.
On the return we’ll have time to relax and socialise with new friends, and enjoy a coffee at the newly opened Blackbutt Cafe.
This is a family friendly event. We’ll go ahead whether it's sunny or raining.
Agenda
Entry to the reserve is free.
I’ll meet you at 10.15am outside the Cafe.
Vehicle entry is via Carnley Avenue. Parking is available for $4/hr or $12/ day.
We’ll set out at 10.30am and take time to see the wombats being fed, and visit the koalas in their treetop home. From there we’ll be walking along the Main trail and then following the Tall Trees loop. This trail is easy going exercise and about 3km altogether.
Back at the Cafe we’ll have time to enjoy coffee or something to eat, and conversation outdoors on the terrace.
