Green Point Walking and Exploring with Coffee and Conversation at Valentine

Join me for a refreshing walk and together we can explore the foreshore parks and bushland trails from Valentine to Green Point, and enjoy time with new and old friends taking in the picturesque outlooks to Lake Macquarie along the way.

We’ll be gathering at Allambee Park in the small friendly village of Valentine. Our walk together will take us through Bennett Park, a favourite launching place for small boat owners. Further along in Green Point Reserve the outdoors adventure includes a variety of leafy shaded paths, stepped sections of track, beautiful elevated views across the lake at Rockyhigh Viewpoint, and a grassy restful parkland on the waters edge at Green Point.

If you’re new in town this is an opportunity to be in nature, enjoy some photography or discover the rich cultural and environmental heritage of the Reserve, once used for agriculture, mining and timber getting and championed for conservation from as early as the 1920s.

On the return to Valentine we’ll have time to relax and socialise with new friends, and enjoy a coffee at the Star Anise Cafe.

This is a family friendly event. We’ll go ahead whether it's sunny or raining.

I’ll meet you at 10.00am at the picnic shelter in Allambee Park, Valentine.
Parking is available on the neighbouring streets.

We’ll set out at 10.15am along Dilkera Avenue, and follow a flat even walking path for about 1.0km along the lake foreshore through Bennett Park until we reach the start of the Green Point Reserve walking track.
We’ll then be following a section of the Green Point Trails Loop to Rockyhigh Viewpoint, then on to the grassy Green Point area on the foreshore. The trail loop is a mix of stairs, steeper sections, boardwalks, and gravel and paved pathways over a distance of about 2.0km.

The return is on the same route via Dilkera Ave and Bennett Park to our start point. The walk is about 4km in total.

Back at Allambee Place in Valentine we’ll have time for conversation with friends and to relax with coffee and something to eat at the Star Anise Café.
