Enjoy this guided walk, exploring the historic importance of Rowner and Alver Valley to the Gosport area This is part of the Heritage open days and is ticketed I have managed to get 8 tickets Please park in the Alver Valley Garden centre Car park which is free Walk lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes Then we could have a cuppa in the garden centre
An introduction to the historic importance of Rowner and Alver Valley to the Gosport area. During the walk learn about over 5000 years of local history, the Saxon settlement, the Norman fort, who the Quarr were, gold and axes found in HMS Sultan. How important Rowner was for 2 medieval kings, the RAF and much more.
