Join a lucky 25 participants for an informative and interesting presentation/tour of the Idaho Transportation Department, District 3 facility. This facility covers just under 22,000 square miles of southwest Idaho and maintains 2,647 lane miles and 399 bridges. It encompasses the 10 southwest counties, the most roads and bridges of all the districts, and nearly 40 percent of the state’s population.

Attendees can expect to hear from one of the Design & Construction Engineers about the State Highway 16 project and potentially the Rainbow Bridge. Materials staff will speak about necessary testing and roadway surveys. Planning staff anticipate being able to give an insight as to how they fund and identify projects and what projects we may see in the future.

We will walk to the Garden City Maintenance Shed and salt pile and hear from the Foreman and/or the Operations Manager.

They are currently coordinating with the statewide sign shop to be able to tour this building.

Plan for indoor / outdoor walking (not more than 1/3 mile). You can also take your vehicle.

LOCATION: 8150 W. Chinden Blvd, Garden City (parking map posted in photos)
