Meditation for All
Details
Hello lovely yogis!
Alyssa, our former Yin yoga instructor, is teaching a meditation workshop at Sweetwater Organic Community Farm.
Have you tried to meditate but found it too difficult or boring? Do you need some guidance to take your regular practice to the next level? Are you simply interested in learning more and have questions? This class is for you!
In this beginner-friendly class, we will discuss the scientific and clinical benefits of a regular meditation practice, and what that actually looks like. We introduce the foundational techniques of breath as anchor, body as anchor, and visualization/guided meditation. We will also discuss how to write and record your own meditations for such purposes as improved focus, relief from anxiety, manifestation, and more!
Alyssa has over 15 years of experience using meditation in the treatment of such illnesses as ADHD, major depression disorder, anxiety, and cPTSD. She incorporates meditation and mindfulness into her work as an intuitive coach and creates personalized wellness plans for her students tailored to their needs.
This class is not a substitute for medical advice.
This is a pay-what-you-can workshop, with a suggested donation of $11 paid in cash, card, venmo, square, or paypal at the door.
Seating is provided, and you are encouraged to bring water, comfortable clothing, and a sitting cushion. Floor seating optional. Wheelchair accessibility available. Parking is available across the creek, accessed via Hanley St.
Bonus! Sweetwater farm has free yoga from 10:30-11:30 am and a farmers market from 12:00-3:00 pm every Sunday from Oct-May! Workshop participants will be able to enjoy these activities as well. Come for a day of rest and recharge and stock up on organic produce and local goods! 🌾
