Nature Hike at Fern Forest
Details
What to Expect
Join us for a refreshing nature hike through the lush, tropical canopy of Fern Forest Nature Center (201 Lyons Rd S, Coconut Creek, FL 33068). We’ll stroll a scenic boardwalk and shaded paths among ancient ferns, towering trees and local wildlife—perfect for unwinding, connecting with nature, and practicing gentle movement
Who It’s For
- Adults of all mobilities (we’ll go at a relaxed pace, accessible terrain)
- Anyone looking to combine nature, connection and light movement
Meeting Spot: Main entrance of Fern Forest Nature Center Office
Duration: Approx. 2 hours
Pace: Gentle, conversational; brief stops for nature observation and mindful breathing
What to Bring: Comfortable shoes, water bottle, sun hat/sunscreen, optional camera or journal
Weather Plan: If heavy rain, we’ll reschedule or move to a covered nature lookout nearby
Highlights
Walk amid a preserved tropical hardwood hammock — rare in this region. Spot native flora like sabal palms, ferns, strangler figs and maybe even a gopher tortoise or two. Enjoy the peaceful “green cathedral” effect of the canopy overhead. Connect with others in an inclusive setting designed for wellness and community.
