Building Resilience: Tech, Trust & Democracy with Alexey Sidorenko
Details
Join us for an inspiring session on the intersection of technology and civil society. In an era where digital landscapes are rapidly changing, how can we use technology to build trust, strengthen communities, and support democratic values?
We are excited to welcome Alexey Sidorenko, Director of "Teplitsa: Technologies for Social Good." Alexey brings a unique Eastern European perspective to the global conversation on digital rights and civic tech.
Rather than focusing solely on the challenges, this meetup is dedicated to exploring solutions and shared learning. We will dive into:
- Tech for Good: How digital tools are being used to strengthen civil society and independent voices.
- The Human Connection: Building "networks of trust" in complex environments.
- Future Tools: The role of AI in maximizing the impact of social initiatives.
About the Speaker: Alexey Sidorenko leads a collective of professionals at "Teplitsa," a capacity-building NGO dedicated to strengthening pro-democracy actors through the smart use of technology. With a background that spans collaboration with Global Voices Online, Carnegie Moscow Centre, and Reporters Without Borders, Alexey is a veteran of civic tech. Notably, he co-developed the award-winning "Help Map" project, a crowdsourcing initiative for wildfire victims. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from Moscow State University.
Come prepared for a constructive dialogue on how we can learn from Eastern European experiences to build a more resilient and connected digital future.
