Non-Alcoholic Newcastle

A bike ride from the Baltic Centre to The Rattler (formerly known as Platform 33) and back, which includes three river crossings:

- The Millennium Bridge
- The Pedestrian Tunnel
- The Shields Ferry

This ride is intended for everyone who has yet to experience the different ways of crossing the Tyne. It includes a long break at The Rattler - a pub with a garden at the beach - where we can have a meal and a rest.

The ride is about 24 miles long and consists of cycle paths, roads, a tunnel, and a ferry.

We meet outside the Monument Metro station (next to Banyan) and walk down to and along the north side of the river until we get to Wallsend, where we end the walk with a meal at Wetherspoon—The Ritz.

If desired, can we take a break at St. Peter's Quay for tea and coffee.

Dogs are always welcome on our walks. However, Wetherspoon does not like them, and we can choose nearby cafes instead when needed.

Wetherspoon is close to the Wallsend Metro station (and bus services) from where everyone can travel back again. Wetherspoon offers vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes. They also have an app, which allows one to order drinks & food directly to a table and to pay by mobile phone:

• this is an 8.4 mile walk with some very steep hills and inclines. lose ground too walking poles if you have them encouraged
• There are country side roads we will walk on single file on please follow me on the roads and wear bright clothing to be seen.

the walk will take it at a slow pace and be as chilled out as possible.
