HUMANISM & GLOBALISM (New Humanists Sunday Open House) 3-6PM

On Sunday 25th February 2017 at Humanist House, Chippendale, the topic will be Humanism & Globalism. This includes much that preoccupies us in the 21st century. Clashes of civilisations as east,west, north and south all become drawn into an historic flow of immigrants, refugees, corporations,religions, cultural memes and technological breakthroughs - the brotherhood of men, the sisterhood of women and the lives of humans. Where are we going? Who are we now? Why is this happening? What are the real priorities?

No one person can answer all these questions but our speaker Peter Cartledge has the passion to get things started. Peter last addressed us in 2016 on 'Corporate Hegemony', but this time he'll track some other worms in the global can. Most importantly we'll share views on some of the biggest problems facing humanity and get in touch with real fears and hopes.

New Humanists Sunday Open House is a gathering for those new to Humanism, seeking to renew Humanism, having new perspectives on Humanism, or making new friendships in a Humanist community. And of course, those more longstanding in a Humanist community are also a vital part of the process.

The Sunday Open House events are designed to appeal to all kinds of non-believers looking for an alternative to pub venues in an atmosphere that allows time and space for good conversation on interesting topics.
