Format: 7-11 Hike (Start 7:00 AM – End 11:00 AM)

This hike will take place in the scenic Norvin Green State Forest, starting from the Snakeden Road Trailhead. The planned route covers approximately 8.5 miles with an elevation gain of around 2,000 feet.

This will be a 7-11 format hike, meaning the group will start around 7:00 AM and aim to finish by 11:00 AM, depending on trail conditions, group pace, and rest breaks.

The hike features multiple stunning highlights, including the spectacular Carris Hill Viewpoint, the lively Yoo Hoo Point, Buck Mountain, and the exciting Knife Edge Ridge of Norvin Green — a narrow and scenic ridgeline offering thrilling views. In addition, we will enjoy half a dozen more scenic overlooks throughout the route, showcasing the rugged beauty of northern New Jersey’s wilderness.

Participants can expect a combination of rocky terrain, forested trails, and open ridgelines, offering both challenge and reward. This is rated as a moderate to challenging hike, suitable for experienced hikers who are comfortable with elevation and uneven footing.
