Hi Jazz Lovers!
You may have joined this Meetup group under the title "Live Jazz & Dinner." Or under our original name and description, "Live Jazz and Dessert" featuring the D&D Jazz Duo – Doug Lalli and Dave Gulyas. We’re now calling this Meetup Group – “Jazz It Up with Doug and Dave" and once again it includes private living room concerts.
Originally, the duo performed jazz concerts in our living room followed by refreshments for $26. But we decided to move the events to a weekly jam session at the Tre Sorelle Ristorante, 1111 Lake Street in Oak Park. This enabled group members to have dinner while listening to Doug and Dave perform in a great house band. Since there’s no cover charge, everyone just has to pay for whatever they order at the restaurant.
Now, “Jazz It Up with Doug and Dave,” offers members private living room concerts!
Here’s what to expect:
Venue: A large, comfortable living room where pianist Doug and Dave will perform two sets of classic and original jazz compositions. Seating accommodates ten people.
Address: Apt. A1, 853 Washington Boulevard, Oak Park.
Dates: The first and third Tuesday of every month starting May 6, 2025.
Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Set 1 - 7:00 PM– 7:50 PM
Break for Refreshments – 7:50 PM – 8:10 PM
Set 2 – 8:10 PM to 9:00 PM
Refreshments: Coffee, tea and desserts between sets. Guests may also bring their own wine, beer, soda, and snacks. We’ll provide glasses and ice.
Cost: $25 per person.

Parking: We live at the southwest corner of Washington Boulevard and Kenilworth Ave. You should be able to find free street parking within a few blocks of us.

Doug and Dave perform regularly at the Tre Sorelle Jam session every Sunday. This is a very affordable evening out since there’s NO COVER and the cost is whatever you want to spend on food and drink. We always reserve a table for the first six “Jazz It Up with Doug and Dave” members who RSVP on this site. You can also reserve a table on your own by calling the restaurant at 708-445-9700.
By the way, parking is FREE in Oak Park on Sunday including in the village lot across the street from the restaurant. It’s also a short walk from the Harlem stop on the Green Line.

As some of you already know we started this group as an audience for a series of events that were held in our living room - called "Live Jazz and Dessert.' It featured the original music (the live jazz part) of Doug Lalli and his partner, guitarist Dave Gulyas followed by drinks and dessert in our living room. Alas, we soon found that we couldn't keep up with event on our own and decided to move the meeting over to a wonderful Oak Park restaurant - Tre Sorelle Ristorante by Mancini at 1111 Lake Street. Doug and Dave play there as part of a house band every Sunday from 3 to 7 PM and it seemed like a good way to get jazz lovers together to hear them every week.
The best part of this change is that it expanded the music to include a full band since it's a jam session! So members can enjoy the talents of bass players, dummers, horn players and singers as well as Doug on piano and Dave on guitar. Since the menu features 125 different entrees, pizza, salad, desserts and a full bar - you can order whatever you like.
The cost? Whatever you want to spend on your meal. And that’s it! There’s NO COVER and parking in Oak Park is FREE on Sunday’s no matter where you park including the village lot across the street.
