About us
This club is for former and prospective Three Peaks Challenge participants – and their family and friends
We have three styles:
1. Walks - (example) our walk around Sydney Harbour. These are walks which - whilst long - allow you to drop out early if it becomes too much. These will continue to be offered so we get out and see our city from another perspective. Please bring water and snacks for these, and let the lead guide know on the day of anything you are concerned about. Typically you don't need hiking gear either. Just good walking shoes.
2. Hikes - these are typically for experienced hikers only, however we may offer some crossover with walks. You must have water (typically 2-3 L), hiking boots or shoes, trail runners etc, and experience. We will advise in hike details if you can do a sample and drop out early.
3. Over summer, we can introduce you to hiking over a concentrated sequence of walks/hikes. This leads up to a charity event that this group supports. See https://www.threepeakschallenge.com.au/
Some Rules:
1. We leave no-one behind. We walk at the pace of the slowest walker/hiker.
2. We are inclusive. We welcome people of all fitness levels, and we offer events to suit.
3. If you are unsure if you have the fitness level to attend a particular event, please choose one of our walks instead, or message the lead for that event, who can advise you.
4. If you have concerns or suggestions - before, during, or after an event, please let the organiser know

Great North Walk - Sixth Section - Berowra to Cowan
Berowra Train Station, Pacific Highway, Berowra, AU## Details
For our Sixth GNW section, we have a pretty tough hike, particularly the second half. We will take it easy to favour anyone newer to hiking, and your host!
Meet: In the carpark at Berowra Stations at 8:00am.
See whatthreewords ///mice.vine.castleDistance, Time, Effort: 13.2 km distance, About 4.5 hours (based on easy pace), Hard effort. It may take longer for a slower group, but we can possibly split the group if so.
Public transport example: Train from Central Platform 16 at 06:45 am gets in 07:50am. Same train is Hornsby Platform 2 at 7:37am
Note: there is often trackwork, so don't rely on this post, use TripView or similar to confirm your travel arrangements. Use our WhatsApp group to message if you are running late or need more info.Driving: There is ample parking at Berowra Station
The hike: This is mostly all bush track so hiking shoes/boots/trail runners are recommended. With an easy descent to the water it starts off well, but there are three big climbs to eventually get to Cowan. That is why this is rated hard!
Bring 2-3 litres of water and snacks.
