Makamah Perimeter, Spur & Detour Hike - 4 mi. + (opt. 3 mi.)

We will be exploring some of the lesser traveled, slightly overgrown trails at Makamah County Preserve in Fort Salonga(Northport).
The initial 4 miles will include Makamah trails only. However, if you're up to it, you can join us for an additional 3 miles through nearby Fuch's Pond Preserve.
for those of you satisfied with only doing Makamah we will send you on a trail directly back to the parking lot as we head off to Fuch's Pond.
Makamah will be easy to moderate approximately 4 mi. with a few short steep hills that may be challenging for some hikers. Hiking poles are suggested for a few of these hills.
NOTICE: New attendees to my Mid-Summer to Winter hiking season are required to pay a one time semi-annual $5.00 fee to cover my planning, preparation a!nd Meetup.com's exorbitant fees. This fee will cover you for all future hikes through January 2026.
Generous donations are also greatly appreciated.

INSTRUCTIONS:
When you arrive, look for Greg. I'll be standing near my big red GMC Denali pickup truck holding my sign-in clipboard.
SUGGESTIONS:
For this hike, I recommend wearing leggings or long pants and shoes with good treads. Bring water to keep yourself hydrated and, if you like, a snack to keep yourself energized.
