Our next film - Black Dog (from China)

Details
I'm pretty sure this Cannes award-winning film will be neither fast-paced nor straightforward. It's meant to have a deeper and inspirational meaning, especially if you love dogs. (How many movie posters feature a dog in a motorcycle side car?) One critic labelled it as "haunting and unforgettable".
Set on the edge of the Gobi desert, the plot involves a man returning to his home town after a long and mysterious absence. Times have changed and many people have abandoned the town, leaving behind their dogs. The man is tasked with rounding up the strays but bonds with one particular (presumably black) dog. We'll meet afterwards likely at the Tehran restaurant (on Rideau St. a few blocks east of the Bytowne) to discuss the film.
