Ottawa Foreign Film Club

Welcome to the Ottawa Foreign Film Club. This is the place to be if you like to see something other than Hollywood blockbusters. Superheros and rom-coms are pretty much banned from this group. We focus on mostly foreign films (there will be the odd English language movie) that are independently produced far from the usual Hollywood studios. That means we usually end up gathering at the Bytowne cinema where these types of movies are most frequently screened. Most of our movies will have emerged as hits from major international film festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Sundance or TIFF.

We also aim to meet for coffee or a drink after the movie to discuss and rate what we have just seen. This often provides interesting and contrasting interpretations to the film.
