Birdsboro Reservoir quest take 2- 13 mi, 2,500' elevation gain. Swift pace

DESCRIPTION:
The Birdsboro Reservoir/Preserve is known for it's scenic views and a variety of trails. We are heading back for a little longer trek and an additional 900' of elevation putting totals for the day at 13 miles and 2,500 feet of elevation. There are a couple new trails added from last time we did this in June to create the additional mileage and elevation.

This is slated to be an enjoyable fitness like hike. We will move at a decent clip, but you will be able to enjoy scenery and hold a conversation. Expect brief stops at a few scenic spots and we will take a short snack break at some point.

The hike will conclude with a crazy climb up the side of the quarry in which you hang on to a rope to traverse the rock without falling. Little sketchy, but not too bad. There is a bypass for this and you will NOT have to participate in this final climb. Safety is always first!

GEAR REQUIRED:
1- Proper footwear- hiking boots or trail runners
2- Appropriate clothing for conditions: layers, wind and rain protection based upon forecast.
3- WATER or other source of hydration; food/snacks as needed and suggested for hikes over 8 miles
4- Electrolytes for warm weather hikes
5- Hiking poles and backpacks as needed.

WEATHER: Heavy rain or storms will cancel and reschedule.

2. Please be courteous and change your rsvp in a timely fashion if you can no longer attend an event. Repeated no shows or a history of signing up and dropping off excessively when there is a waitlist will exclude you from being moved off of future waitlists and special events
