Valley Forge Hike - 4-1/2 to 5 miles (not slow) Moderate Level 800+ ft elevation
Details
This will be our fourth Monday evening hike at Valley Forge for the year. As the sunset gets later, our mileage gets longer. We'll gain about a half mile every two weeks. This week, we'll get in about 4-1/2 to 5 miles and 800 – 1000ft of elevation gain at a decent pace (apprx. 3.0-3.3 mph) Moderate level, along the trails of Mt Joy.
Sunset is 7:23, so we will be starting promptly at 5:30 to get our hour and 45 minute hike in. If you are running late, group message me before 5:20 so we know to loop around to meet you. I cannot read or reply to messages once we start.
Best to wear hiking boots or trail running shoes as we'll be on the dirt trails with rocks and tree roots; not paved paths. It is also a good idea to bring a hiking pole.
Definitely recommend hydrating before the hike and bring plenty of water and a snack.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a static length leash at all times.
