Tier1: Sellwood paddle (and picnic?) - Season Close
Details
The weather is supposed to be pretty nice, let's gather for an easy paddle and celebration of the season that we are completing.
Season close means it MIGHT become the last paddle of the season. But does not have to be.
I'd love to update you on the vision of the transition that I want us to take starting next year - I want us to migrate away from Meetup starting Nov 2026 and switch over organizing to email/website/FB/Insta. Would love to talk to people who are knowledgeable with that.
As always in the Sellwood Riverfront park we gather on the lawn by the parking lot, inflating, mingling, having a gathering circle and then carrying our kayaks to the dock where we will launch.
Depending on the conditions we'll go up or down the river, paddle around, maybe embark on an island, have some food either on land or on water and paddle back.
What to bring:
- A kayak/vessel, PFD and all that's needed to paddle
- Food for yourself you might want to have, and to share if you feel inclined
- Water
- Bathing suit? What if you feel like swimming?
- A towel?
If you need a spot in a kayak - message Jack or post a comment. I have a free spot as of writing of this. Feel free to message with any questions or suggestions as well.
Fund raising:
This year we are experiencing less financial security that we are used to for the first time due to Meetup fees having been almost doubled overnight.
Your donations also support existence of another kayaking group. All of the donations go towards running of the group, all organizers are unpaid volunteers.
If you feel like contributing - bring cash or make a donation by Venmo. We suggest a $10 contribution.
