Portland Street Art Walk: Central Street Eastside

Details

Portland is coming into its own regarding street art. The shift in attitude comes with a bureaucratic relaxation of strict ordinances against illegal graffiti to accommodate “legal” street artists under the auspices of organizations like the Portland Street Art Alliance and Forest for the Trees.

Portland’s Eastside Mural district is full of street art murals, graffiti and urban adventures. This industrial sanctuary began as Produce Row where fruits and vegetables from the fertile Willamette Valley came into the city and were distributed to regional markets via the river and
railroads. The streets are always changing, and finding street art is often times
like a scavenger hunt. We will end the walk at Salt and Straw, for a sweet treat.

Plan to walk at least 4-5 miles. This is a leisurely stroll and we will make stops a long the way to view the art and take pictures.

Friendly well socialized dogs are welcome but on leash.
What to bring? Comfortable walking shoes, water and phone or camera for pics.
Weather appropriate clothing.

Everyone will start on the waitlist to avoid no shows and ensure an equal number of men to women.
