Chinley Circular Inc Three Ethels.
Details
This linear station to station walk not only incorporates six Ethels but also it boasts dramatic and undulating landscapes, which is easy on the eye to all outdoorsy people like us.
Trains from Sheffield to Chinley also trains from Manchester into Chinley, please check train times to consider the walk start time.
If there is by any chance there's a train strike, this walk can be amended making it into a circular but not incorporating the full intended six Ethels.
From Chinley Churn,(457m) our first Ethel of the day you can see for miles around including our next Ethels..
Our next Ethel will be Mount Famine, a gritstone hill between the villages of Hayfield and Chinley which peaks at 473m above sea level.
South Head 494m
Brown Knoll, not everyone's cup of tea! But it's one of the highest hills in the Peak District at 569m.
Lords Seat (Rushup Edge) 550m.
And finally heading onto Mam Tor. AKA Mother Hill. Standing at 517m this is our last Ethel of the day before we head down into Edale by Hollins Cross.
Mileage is around 11.3 miles.
Total ascent 705m.
We will be walking at reasonably steady pace, hopefully the weather will be kind to us on the day which will give the camera enthusiasts some great photos from good advantage points throughout the day.
Suitable walking attire including boots and waterproofs.
If your plans change before the walk date please change your RSVP as soon as possible.
Well behaved dogs are welcome on our walk, BUT EACH DOG MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES PLEASE.
It's currently bird nesting and lambing season right up to the end of July so please be mindful of this whilst walking your dog(s) in the countryside.
See you there!
Pauline and Michael.
