Charlotte Perkins Gilman's 1892 classic short story "The Yellow Wallpaper" explores the dangers of societal expectations and the imposed psychiatric treatment of women. Perkins Gilman's unusual structure mirrors the main character's disturbing descent into madness. Retired English teacher Connie Booth leads a discussion about the story on February 20 and on February 27 a screening and discussion of a 1989 movie adaptation.
