About us
Welcome to Pride Adventures (Victoria)!
We organise a variety of LGBTQ+ friendly activities and trips for members to connect, have fun, and make new friends.
The idea is simply to provide our community (and friends) a welcoming platform to meet like minded people in a relaxed environment whilst having the opportunity to enjoy the best of what Victoria offers.
Most activities are centred around my love of bushwalking and just getting out into the wonderful outdoors, but we will be hosting general social events and are always open to suggestions.
Events will cater for people of varying fitness levels from those that just want to enjoy a gentle social walk to those that want to combine the social aspect with building their fitness levels and taking on a challenge!
Carefully read the event description to understand if the posted event is right for you or simply ask the organiser of the event.
What's the cost ?
Events are free unless there are entry fees or other expenses that require payment.
Is transport provided ?
Those attending events will be required to arrange their own transport to the meeting point.
We are always keen where possible for those with transport to offer a ride to others in order to do our bit for the environment but also give those without transport the opportunity to attend events. (to allow for this we use a simple carpooling website - just follow the link on the event description)
Why am I on the waitlist for an event?
In the interest of safety and in some cases to minimise the impact on the environment, hike leaders will often nominate an attendee limit for the event. If the limit has been reached, you're still welcome to join the waitlist and simply keep checking to see if a space has become free.
What if I can’t come to an event anymore?
Please change your RSVP to ‘Not going’ even if you’re currently on the waitlist.
A no-show policy applies to all events, so if you’re a confirmed attendee but can no longer come, please contact the hike leader as early as possible to avoid being marked as a no-show. (3 no shows and you will not be able to attend future event in fairness to all those in the group)

Tasmanian Adventure (based in Hobart)
Salamanca place, https://maps.app.goo.gl/7KeQGL5descjoMFH9, Hobart, AUEscape the city over the Melbourne Cup weekend and join us on a Tasmanian adventure!
EVENT CONFIRMED: Please read in full before responding:
Please take the time to read the draft outline below and RSVP to this event if you’re keen to join us.
Overview:
Basing ourselves in Hobart, we’ll be able to experience some of the best hiking areas Tasmania has to offer, including beautiful Mount Wellington, the amazing Bruny Island, and the stunning Tasman Peninsula, home to the famous Three Capes Track. We’ll have three main days of hiking:
- Saturday, October 31
- Sunday, November 1
- Monday, November 2
So if attending all events you would need to arrive into Hobart on Friday the 30th of October and depart on Tuesday the 3rd of November.
This will allow everyone to return ready to start back to work fresh on Wednesday!(but of course you can arrive earlier or stay on later if you want to extend the trip to enjoy more of Tasmania)
Each hike will be posted as a separate event, so you’re free to join us for every hike or just the ones that appeal to you and fit into your plans.
If you’d like to take a break from hiking, this is also a brilliant opportunity to see some of the many attractions this part of Tasmania offers. Visit the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA)—a true highlight of the city—take a trip to Port Arthur, the infamous but beautiful penal colony, or simply make the most of the many wineries and dining options in the area.Getting There:
For those who want to take their cars, there’s the overnight ferry from Geelong to Devonport. Follow this link for more information: Spirit of Tasmania.
Spirit of TasmaniaAlternatively, there are regular flights from Melbourne directly to Hobart: Skyscanner Hobart Flights.
Sky Scanner Hobart FlightsAccommodation:
There are many options, from hotels, hostels, and Airbnbs to motels, catering to all budgets. However, given that this is a holiday weekend, it’s wise to book well in advance as soon as the event is confirmed.Costs:
Apart from your own transport, meals and accommodation costs, we will need to share the cost of getting around on the island. This will likely require us to hire one or two people movers. As an estimate, this will be around $110 per person, depending on final numbers and how many people bring their own cars.18 attendees
Tasman NP - Mount Fortescue Loop
Cape Hauy parking, Fortescue TAS 7182, Australia, Fortescue, AU# Tasmanian Adventure Hike One:
Grade: Hard
Total Elevation Gain: 976m
Distance: 22 km
Pace: Moderate (4 KM PH)
Meeting Point: Cape Hauy parking area
Host Contact Number: 0401498263 (Douglas)This is a great way to experience the beautiful Tasman National Park.
A hike that takes in some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Tassie, and links together sections of the iconic Three Capes Track, the Old Cape Pillar Track, and the Cape Hauy Track on its way to the summit of Mount Fortescue.Rated by most hikers as moderate to hard with just under 1,000 meters gain, however this gain is spread evenly over the distance with only three short but tough hills (mostly steps) to keep us challenged.
The side hike to Cape Hauy is optional but highly recommend as the views are amazing.
(For those not wanting to complete the side hike to the cape you will have an extended break at the rest area 60-90 minutes) .Transport:
Please ensure you have organised your transport and confirm your pick up point in Hobart with the driver in advance! We will all meet at the day use car park at the Cape Hauy parking area. at Fortescue Bay.
The last 10Km of trip is on dirt road but its well maintained so 4WD not needed. You will need to leave Hobart by 7:00am as the drive to the starting point will take about one hour forty minutes in time to start on the track by 8:40am.
Track Notes:
The big climbs on this track are mostly steps so though steep they are easily managed and being a key part of the 3 Capes Track its all very well maintained.Other Notes: The weather on the Tasman peninsular is VERY famous for its unpredictable nature and can quickly change. So please make sure you are prepared for sudden changes in levels of temperature, rain and wind!
See the attached map for more information (a guide only).

Tarn Shelf Circuit (Mount Field NP)
Lake Dobson Car Park, 1600 Lake Dobson Rd, Mount Field TAS 7140, Australia, Mount Field, AU# Tasmanian Adventure Hike TWO:
Grade: Moderate to Hard
Total Elevation Gain: 730m
Distance: 17 km
Pace: Moderate (4.5km PH)
Meeting Point: Lake Dobson Carpark
Host Contact Number: 0401498263 (Douglas)One of the best day walks in Tasmania, the Tarn Shelf Circuit explores the alpine section of Mount Field National Park. Starting at Lake Dobson, the trail initially passes through dryer Eucalypt forest before rising to Twilight Tarn and following the incredibly beautiful Tarn Shelf from Lake Newdegate to Rodway Hut. With spectacular glacier-carved tarns, lakes and valleys, this is a truly great all day adventure in the Tasmanian Wilderness
Rated by most hikers as moderate to hard there are no major climbs but some areas that are very rocky and can get rather muddy after heavy rain.
Transport:
Please ensure you have organised your transport and confirm your pick up point in Hobart with the driver in advance! You will need to leave Hobart by 7:00am as the drive to the starting point will take about one hour forty five minutes in time to start on the track by 8:45am.
We will all meet at the day use car park at the Lake Dobson Carpark .
The last 15Km of trip is on dirt road and though moslty in a good condition there are some rather damp areas and a few BIG potholes so allow time to take it slowly if you are not in a 4WD.Track Notes:
There is a pretty big climb at the start of this track but this section is mostly fire trail so easy to manage. the rest of the hike is 70% rock hopping and the rest on broadwalks . the bigest challenge is the long rock decent back down to the lake.Note: The weather in this NP is famous for its unpredictable nature and can quickly change. So please make sure you are prepared for VERY sudden changes in temperature and conditions including wet, muddy tracks, high winds and sudden storms.
See the attached map for more information (a guide only).
