The Mt Riddell Track follows a steady climb through beautiful forest, surrounded by towering mountain ash and soft fern gullies. The trail has a peaceful, secluded feel, with only the sounds of lyrebirds and the wind in the trees for company. As you make your way up, there are glimpses of Maroondah Reservoir and Mt Leonard through the canopy, hinting at the views waiting higher up. It’s a consistent incline from start to finish, but the changing forest and sense of quiet make it a really rewarding walk.
