PSGCNJ is a volunteer nonprofit organization for professionals in career transition. All our services are free. We've been an independent nonprofit since 2012.
This employment community is built around three primary activities: weekly meetings, job search training and volunteering to keep skills fresh and learn new ones. These are opportunities where professionals can build new and lasting relationships.

General Membership meetings feature a guest speaker who teaches our professionals how they can improve their job-search strategies and tactics every week.
Job search workshops during the first week of every month
Accelerated Career Training (ACT) workshops instruct members how to navigate today’s job market in a comprehensive program. Five modules across two and a half days cover:
1. Employment Orientation, 2. Communications, 3. Networking, 4. Resumes & Cover Letters, and 5. Interviewing
Advanced training workshops offered once a month

- Select and Stay in Touch: Choose credible references and keep them informed.
- Make the Ask Right: Be clear, respectful, and specific.
- Equip Them Well: Share your resume, job details, and what to highlight.
- Time It Right: Contact them when you’re moving forward in the process.
- Leverage AI, Not Replace People: Automated tools help, but credibility is still human.
- Manage Red Flags: Prep references to frame any concerns constructively.
Ruth Robbins, MBA, is a Senior Career and Job Search Coach with 20+ years of experience in career transition, branding, and job search strategy. She coaches senior managers across industries through Outplacement Pro and The White Hawk Group. At GetFive, she led weekly strategy groups on networking, interviewing, and negotiation. A frequent speaker, she has worked with Columbia Business School, McGraw Hill, and others. Ruth holds an MBA from Fordham and certifications in Adult Career Planning and MBTI.
