Melbourne Pride March - Rainbow Atheists & Humanists Australia Contingent

Details

Join Rainbow Atheists and Humanists Australia at Melbourne's Pride March in St Kilda on Sunday 5 February 2023.

Humanists were among the first activists for LGBT+ rights in Australia in 1966, and this will be our first participation in the Pride March in commemoration of this history.

Rainbow Atheists is proud to join with our allies in Humanists Australia.

Gather at the March at 9:15 for registration. Attendees will be issued with wristbands.

The March itself commences at 11 am and ends approx. 1:30pm

Midsumma celebrations continue until approx. 4:30pm for those interested.

Our group may choose to go to a cafe after the March.

This gives us lots of time to mingle and socialise with like-minded queer nonbelievers. In the spirit of Harvey Milk, Alan Turing and Marlene Dietrich, come along to show the world that religious non-belief is a valid and ethical option for LGBT+ people.

As this is our first official annual involvement, our contingent is currently small and further participants are very welcome. However, early registration will help secure your place as numbers are limited.

To register, please email Geoff at gallshorn@hotmail.com before 3rd February. Include 'Pride March' in the subject line of your email to avoid the spam filter. Geoff will provide final details by email.

A Pride March participant briefing will be available online after 1st February if you want further information before the day.
