At this online event, Sally Larsen will talk about using R for structural equation models in educational research. Sally's research focuses on longitudinal SEM (latent growth models) and she will talk about the types of research questions that she has approached using this methodology. She will also present some examples of code for both cross-sectional SEMs and longitudinal variations (e.g. latent growth models) using the lavaan package and example data. She will talk about the process of model comparisons and how to generate various fit indices common in SEM, and she will also show how to create some basic visualisations.

Sally Larsen is a PhD candidate in Education and Psychology at the University of New England. Her research has recently been covered in The Conversation.
