About us
Would you would like to go to classical and orchestral performances with others like you? You have found the right Meetup group.
Join us to attend concerts with a variety of orchestras, chamber music groups, vocal ensembles, university music programs, opera and more. (Did you know that in addition to our world class St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, there are 14 other orchestras performing regularly in the area?). Many of the concerts we attend are free to attend. And we often have a social gathering as part of our Meetup events. Whether you are new to classical music or a trained musician, you will be comfortable and enjoy our group.
Membership in the Symphony Meetup of St. Louis costs $5 per year, after a 60 day free trial, to offset the costs of the Meetup. We typically organize about 50 events per year for members to choose from to participate. You can review past events and future schedules here on our Meetup pages. Join us for a musical adventure.

A Grown-Up Orchestra Concert for All Ages
560 Music Center, 560 Trinity Ave., University City, MO, USLet's take advantage of this very special event and opportunity created for us by the Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis. And this one will be exceptional fun and quite interesting for all of us grown-ups as well as family and friends of all ages that we bring along.
Two popular, classical symphonic pieces will open and close this concert. Fun, energetic, easy listening, including an iconic piece from Ravel. His Mother Goose Suite and the Hindemith are mainstays of the classical repertoire and are great anchors for the concert.
What's the Cat Thing About?
The centerpiece of this performance is a hard to believe, too-crazy-to-be-true St. Louis story that is wild fun. That real life story has been retold in a clever children's illustrated book. Then, an original symphonic orchestral piece was commissioned to accompany the story and book. This is serious music to help tell a lighthearted story. This is the world premiere of that new music, How Mr. Silver Stole the Show, commissioned by the Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis, created by noted composer Stefan Freund. The performance will be accompanied by visuals created by Sarah Klise, the illustrator of the children's book. And, as part of the performance, the story will be narrated by St. Louis's own Sarah Fenske, Editor of St. Louis Magazine, Donnybrooker and media maven extraordinaire.
This is an all star show, enjoyable for everyone. The full music program and ticket information are included below.
Seating & Parking
The concert is at the beautiful 560 Music Center. Although it is general admission seating, the orchestra will be reserving optimal seating for us together. And parking is free in the attached parking garage.Reception Invitation
The Metropolitan Orchestra is having a celebratory reception after this performance. We are specially invited to join the orchestra, their principals and the guest performers and creators for refreshments, appetizers and desserts. Please plan to make an appearance after the concert, even if only briefly.
Note: Mr. Silver, the cat, will not be in attendance. But books might be available. :-)Ticket Information

FREE ART+MUSIC: Concert at St. Louis Art Museum
St. Louis Art Museum, One Fine Arts Drive, Forest Park, St. Louis, MO, USStep into a vivid, immersive world where sound and image collide. Chamber Project Saint Louis presents a captivating multimedia concert inspired by Visions of Antiquity, bringing the ancient Greeks and Romans to life through music and art.
Guided by the engaging insights of Clare Kobasa, Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at SLAM, and Dana Hotle, Executive Director of Chamber Project Saint Louis, the program unfolds as a dynamic dialogue between past and present. Their commentary weaves a compelling narrative that deepens the connection between the works on view and the music on stage.
At the heart of the performance is the luminous soprano Benedetta Orsi, whose voice soars above a rich instrumental palette of flute, clarinet, bassoon, string quartet, and piano. Together, the ensemble traces the enduring influence of antiquity through evocative, transportive soundscapes.
Join us for this 80-minute journey in the Farrell Auditorium—an unforgettable evening where history resonates, art speaks, and music breathes new life into the ancient world.
