Hey all!

Join me for a practical “meditation lab” where we’ll run two simple experiments and compare notes. This is for anyone at any level so it's light on theory and heavy on direct experience. No beliefs required, no special meditation background needed.

These practices show up (in different forms) in Buddhism and other nondual traditions, but we’ll keep this grounded and practical: train attention, recognize awareness, and loosen the stress-grip that comes from getting stuck in our own head.

People often experience more space around thoughts and emotions, less reactivity, and a simple way to reset during stress. In Buddhist terms, it’s about loosening the “grip” (clinging) — not by forcing calm, but by seeing experience more clearly.

### What we’ll do (2 practices)

These are simple practices but can be very baffling to many. So we will try them ourselves and crowdsource our experiences. No need to understand them before attending.

  1. Douglas Harding’s “Headless Way” a direct noticing experiment that can shift perspective from “I’m behind my eyes” to “experience is happening here.” Some background here
  2. Awareness-of-Awareness (“Looking for the Looker”) a gentle technique for recognizing the knowing quality of experience (the awareness that’s already present). Some background here

### What I hope you get out of it

  • More space around thoughts and emotions
  • Less reactivity / rumination (even a small shift helps)
  • Two meditation practices you can try anytime, anywhere.

We’ll do short guided practices, then optional discussion focused on what you actually noticed.
