The RiverWatch Bar & grill has finally reopened after 10+ months of very hard work! I really would like to support them on their reopening by having a lunch meetup there. I’ve eaten there quite a few times and the food is quite good. Plus you have a stunning view of Chimney Rock State Park. They also have a coffeehouse and a gift/souvenir shop that you might want to visit after you eat.

IMPORTANT: The only open route into Chimney Rock is NC 9 thru Lake Lure. Binion’s Roadhouse is a popular steakhouse that is locally owned and operated. It’s not part of a chain. It’s been here since 1975. Let’s play bingo! The American Legion Post 77 in Hendersonville is open to the public for bingo on Wednesday evenings. It starts at 7:00 PM with a $25 buy-in. Hmmm, just think if you win! 💰 I haven’t played bingo in many years so it will be fun to do so on a chilly November evening. By the way, I’m trying to restrict meetup events to daylight hours for many members do not want to drive at night, but occasionally I will post something for those who don’t mind. The hours for the bingo is 7-10 PM, but you may leave at any time. I know I won’t be playing for 3 hours.

If you care to get a bite to eat prior to bingo come join me at 5:30 PM. The American Legion has a menu that offers sandwiches, burgers, and on Wednesdays beef tips & rice or chicken wings. To view their menu go to their website and go to canteen. Scroll down for their dinner menu.

The church and churchyard (cemetery) tour is one hour long and is sponsored by the St. John Episcopal Church Docents. It is free.

The tour begins inside the Carriage Door entrance of the church at 11:00 AM and ends at 12 noon. The tour will be led by a volunteer church docent who seeks to tell the story of the historic parish. The tour will cover the history of the historic church and cemetery. I had this meetup last year and it was so interesting!

After the tour ends we will be having lunch at the Flat Rock Wood Room in Flat Rock which is only 2 min. away (0.9 mi). There will be a separate meetup post for that for you to RSVP if you wish to go eat after the tour.

Please note that this meetup will be limited to 20 members. One guest allowed. Also, please wear comfortable shoes to walk around the churchyard.
