SF Foodies hasn’t gone for dim sum in at least a month. (Our collective cholesterol has likely returned to healthy levels by now!) Fortunately, Osmanthus Dim Sum Lounge offers dim sum in all of the major categories: steamed, fried, baked, and noodles.

The Infatuation characterizes Osmanthus Dim Sum Lounge as a “beloved local spot.” It’s far enough outside of Chinatown to be off of most tourists’ radar, but the food is authentic and fresh, and the interior is pleasing.

Plus, the company will be great.

Again, per The Infatuation, “The menu covers dim sum standards like siu mai, shrimp cheong fun, and XO noodle rolls that get the job done with ease. But the runaway hit, however, are the chewy, fragrant garlic noodles, which are some of the city’s best.” You can see a gallery of scrumptious images here.

Osmanthus also features a whiskey bar. We’ll be dining on Saturday morning, but you do you! Also, I understand the family that owns the restaurant also owns a tea shop in Chinatown, so they feature a broad selection of teas at the restaurant.

All food will be shared family style, and the food bill will be split evenly. Hopefully with a big group, we’ll be able to widely sample the menu. On the other hand, if you have significant dietary restrictions, you may wish to skip this event.

Costs
We will split the bill for food evenly amongst attendees. I expect food will run between $40-50 per person. Everyone is responsible for the cost of their own drinks. No separate checks. Please be prepared to reimburse the host via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Pay.

Taxes and Fees
Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%). The restaurant may add an employee health surcharge and likely a mandatory gratuity for a large party.
