Ready for a weekend that’ll stamp a grin on your face from the moment we leave Brisbane? 🚐💨 We’re off on a three-day Bundy adventure—laughs on the bus, pizza by the pool, a lazy riverwalk, a splash of local lavender, and plenty of small-town gems—then boom: Saturday night we’re on the beach, torches low, watching tiny turtle hatchlings wriggle up through the sand and sprint to the sea under a blanket of stars.
Guided by the passionate Mon Repos rangers, we’ll be front-row for every heart-melting moment and hear the epic tales behind these little travellers’ first big journey.

Entry tickets to Mon Repos Turtle Hatching Guided Experience, including:
-Talks, interactive displays, and immersive theatre rooms dedicated to sharing the world of turtles
- Guides will lead us down to the beach under the stars, where we'll watch them gently uncover the hidden nest and carefully count and monitor each hatchling as they burst up through the sand to their very first glimpse of the world.
- We'll have an up-front, close-up view as the tiny turtles scurry across the sand and into the sea - an experience that's both magical and moving..

✔ Saturday Morning Options:
A) Botanical Gardens stroll plus Bundaberg Rum Distillery Tour ($33pp)
This is a guided tour of Australia’s most iconic rum distillery, including fascinating behind-the-scenes insights into the distilling process and tastings of select premium rums. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, craftsmanship, and a bit of local flavour!
B) Bert Hinkler Museum visit ($15) plus Bundaberg Rum Distillery Tour ($35 pp)
C) Botanical Gardens stroll plus Bert Hinkler Museum visit ($15 pp) and Bundy Barrel, where you can browse the free interactive displays or choose an optional soft drink tasting experience ($15 pp, includes a 6-pack to take home).
Note: Optional activities marked with a price are not included in the trip cost. The Rum Tour ($35) must be pre-booked—if you choose this option, please add $35 to the event price when you RSVP so I can secure your tour spot with Bundy Rum Distillery.
The Hinkler Museum ($15) and Bundy Barrel tasting ($15) can be decided and paid for on the day.

✔ Meals Included:
- Friday evening pizza by the pool
- Saturday Subway lunch (we'll pre-order everyone's choice in advance, after our Saturday morning sightseeing, we'll swing by to pick it up and head back to the motel to enjoy in comfort.
- Nibbles on the bus
- Cool water on bus for re-fills
- Large esky on board if you'd like to bring along any cold foods or drinks
- Some wine to share (you're also welcome to BYO9 your favourite drop if you'd like to contribute something special)
- other meals will be a mix of relaxed pre-booked cafes along the way (own expense). Breakfasts on both Saturday and Sunday can be either BYO at the motel or enjoyed at a nearby cafe.

✔ And of course, a fantastic group of fellow members all excited to share the wonder of seeing the turtle hatchlings emerge and begin their journey to the sea.

Payments & Early Bird Offer
To secure our group tickets and confirm numbers, please RSVP before 1st September to receive the Early Bird price. RSVPs after this date will be at the standard event price. All bookings close 1 November so room arrangements can be finalised.
Deposits: A $70 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot and confirm your place on the trip. The balance of your payment, which covers all inclusions listed above, is due by 1 November 2025.

Refunds and Conditions:
▪ A moderate level of fitness is required for walking and standing on the sandy beach for up to 1.6km at night in limited light.
▪ If you invite a +1 guest, please pay on their behalf.
▪ No smoking, vaping or mobile phone use, (except the camera app) while in company as this is considered discourteous.
▪ If you are prone to motion sickness, please bring appropriate medication with you.
▪ Members are required to produce a valid credit card for standard motel room security.
▪ All other meals and drinks, unless specifically mentioned as included in the event description above (e.g. pizza night, Subway lunch) are at your own expense.
▪ Failure to arrive on time will void the ticket entirely with no refunds.
▪ The adventure will still go ahead if it rains.
▪ The National Park authority reserves the right to cancel and reschedule turtle viewing at their discretion; if cancelled by the Park authority, there is no refund.
▪ Turtles are wild mariners, and sightings cannot be guaranteed; if turtles are not sighted, there is no refund.
▪ Deposits are non-refundable.
▪ Bookings close on 3 December 2025 or when a minimum of 8 tickets are claimed, whichever comes first. Minimum attendees = 8; Maximum attendees = 10
▪ Cancellations after 3 December 2025 will incur a $69 Cancellation/Amendment Fee.
▪ No refunds will be issued after booking close on 3 December 2025, unless your place is taken by an approved member of our Meetup group.
▪ If you cancel after bookings close, I will endeavour to sell your ticket for you, but no guarantees.
▪ Reselling tickets is a courtesy, not an entitlement. Refunds are directed to your bank account only. Tickets may not be passed on to another person without prior approval.
▪ If you resign or are removed from our Meetup group, the Cancellation/Amendment Fee still applies, even if the adventure has not yet commenced.
▪ No refunds will be issued after 19 January 2026
▪ In the event of any changes or amendments to the adventure or itinerary, or reallocation of hosts, there are no refunds.
▪ The organiser and host reserve the right to discontinue any unused portion of your ticket if necessary due to safety, health or behaviour concerns; members will be informed of the reason and are responsible for arranging their own return home, along with all associated costs.
-As with all our adventures, the organiser and host reserve the right to discontinue any unused part of your ticket without providing refunds or alternative arrangements. This would occur only in very rare instances where a member’s behaviour is deemed completely out of line with our group’s ethics. This measure is in place to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all participants, and to uphold our standards of respectful and ethical conduct.
- While we make every effort to ensure a seamless and enjoyable adventure, it’s important to be prepared for unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather, flooding, or bushfires. In the rare event that part or all of the trip must be cancelled due to such circumstances, having comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended to provide an added layer of protection.
