🦒 An Experience Like No Other
Ever dreamed of waking up inside a zoo? Our Dubbo Zoo adventure blends wildlife thrills with road-trip fun, relaxing dips in artesian pools, and shared dinners that turn into laughter-filled nights. Picture cocktails at sunset, giraffes wandering past our lodges, and lions calling at dawn - a trip packed with stories, laughs, and memories we'll be talking about for years.

🐾 Our Journey
DAY ONE: We ease into the trip with a relaxing overnight stay in Moree. Along the way we'll stop for a cafe lunch in Pittsworth, stretch the legs at Millmerran, and enjoy another short break at Goondiwindi before continuing on.
Our motel is a treat in itself - with three artesian pools on-site, including one indoors. In the morning, we can slip into the warm, mineral-rich water and simply float, relax and enjoy that soothing, weightless feeling Moree is famous for.

DAY TWO: Destination Dubbo! We start with a leisurely morning, taking time to enjoy the motel's artesian pools - indoors or outdoors, both filled with Moree's famous mineral-rich waters. After a late-morning departure, our drive takes us through Narrabri for a quick Maccas stop and then on to Coonabarabran for a tempting bakery break. By late afternoon we arrive in Dubbo and check into a welcoming motel with a saltwater pool - the perfect launchpad for tomorrow's big day at the zoo.

DAY THREE: Today we'll explore Taronga Western Plains Zoo in all its open-range glory. We'll drive the 5km open-range circuit, stopping often for keeper talks and timed feedings, where we'll see animals up close, learn quirky facts, and catch their personalities shine through. Lions crunching into their meaty treats, hippos wallowing with big splashes, monkeys swinging into action, and cheeky meerkats popping up to survey the crowd. Expect plenty of laughs, plenty of 'did you see that?!' moments, and heaps of fun pics!

🏕️ Zoofari Lodge Stay
Then comes the extra special part: checking in to our animal view canvas lodges, perfectly placed so we can see the savannah life unfolding right in front of us from the comfort of our deck, spotting giraffes ambling past, zebras grazing in the open, and hippos taking a lazy wallow - moments that'll make us pause, smile, and soak it all in.

Soon after check-in, we'll join a special giraffe feeding at the savannah - a magical chance to hand-feed these gentle giants.

🍹 Evening – Cocktail Hour & African-Style Banquet
As the sun sets, we'll gather at the Zoofari Guest House for Cocktail Hour - signature cocktails are available at a discount, and other beverages like wine, beer, and spirits can be purchased if something special takes your fancy. It's a relaxed way to mingle and share a laugh before the feast begins.
Dinner itself is an African-style banquet: generous shared platters laden with meats, fish, vegetables, and side dishes. 'Platter after platter keeps arriving' at the table, and staff happily top things up while the conversation flows. It's a true feast !

🌅 Morning – Dawn Walk, Zoofari Breakfast, Crystal Kingdom - Moree
DAY FOUR: At first light, we'll join Zoofari staff for a guided morning walk, catching the zoo as it stirs to life - animals yawning, calling, and heading to breakfast. Afterwards, comes one of the highlights of our lodge stay: a hearty Zoofari breakfast served in a beautiful setting, where the aromas of hot dishes and fresh options make it a real feast to remember.
Once we've fuelled up, we'll begin our northbound journey homeward after our unforgettable zoo stay.
Along the way we'll stop at Crystal Kingdom, home to one of the world's most unique mineral collections, before continuing on to Moree. Tonight we'll check in at a motel conveniently located near the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre, ready for a relaxing final morning.

DAY FIVE: We'll start our day with one last soothing soak at the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre - a different experience to the natural motel pools we enjoyed earlier in the trip. One last chance to enjoy Moree's famous waters before our journey home to Brissy.

Note for Gents: As always, gents are welcome to RSVP. For accommodation purposes, gents are required to book an Own Room option. On the occasions we've had gents join us, they've always been wonderful, well-balanced travellers who come along for the destination and touring - and it's been a great mix for the group.

Meet the stars of the Scenic Rim - majestic Scottish Highland Coos, sweet-faced Valais Blacknose Sheep, playful Pygmy Goats, gentle Camels, and mischievous Dairy Goats - plus some seriously unique Queensland produce tastings as we explore three very different farms tucked away in the region.
Let's start with a Nat style morning tea in Boonah - a chance to settle in, get to know each other over a bite, and set ourselves up for the day ahead. There's something about sharing a morning tea that turns a group of strangers into friends before we've even reached the first farm.

🐄 Northview Highlands - Meet the Highland Coos
Ever met a Scottish Highland Coo? Well, we're about to. These shaggy beauties with their long coats, sweeping horns, and the gentlest eyes are seriously photogenic - and they know it! We've booked a private one-hour encounter where we'll get hands-on with these gorgeous cattle. Feed them, pat them, brush their shaggy coats, and just hand out with them in their paddock.
These Highland cattle are known for their quiet temperament and intelligence, so it's a genuinely lovely experience getting up close with them.

🐪Summerland Camels - 'Nat Style' Tasting Experience with a View
After our farm encounter, we'll head to Summerland Camels for something a bit different.
BYO picnic Lunch - we'll enjoy under the trees at the Camel Farm
While you go say hello to the camels and have a wander, I'll be up on the balcony getting our table set up overlooking the camel farm.
I've booked us a table where we'll get to experience the unique flavours of camel products firsthand - tasting platters of camel milk, camel milk feta, and TAWCC camel charcuterie - all included.
The cafe has a great range of drinks, from cold drinks through to wine and beer, so grab whatever takes your fancy at your own cost.

How cool is this - the farm's just landed their first export contract to the USA, so if we're lucky, we might even get one of the staff to po out for a quick chat about what's happening there and where they're headed on the global market.

🐐 Goat Dairy - Pop-in Visit
We'll pop into a local goat dairy where the owner will give us a quick spiel about the farm and treat us to some gelato and milk tastings - always a highlight when we visit here! You'll also have the chance to grab some fresh goat cheese, goat milk, and other goodies to take home.

NEVER TRAVEL ALONE AGAIN - - - ✈️​

Carnarvon Gorge hikes, Arcadia Valley glamping, campfires & outback stories — a week of adventure and relaxation together.

Our trip begins with a night in Roma, time to stretch the legs, check out the famous bottle tree, take a wander through town, and pick up any last-minute treats before we head further west. Then it’s five nights of luxury glamping in Arcadia Valley, right on a working cattle property, where we’ll have plenty of space to relax, cook together, and enjoy each other’s company. I’ll be bringing all the ingredients for our outback meals, and with the huge log house kitchen fully equipped with every gadget you could imagine, we can make preparing and sharing food part of the fun.

Our adventure includes two big days exploring Carnarvon Gorge — first with a guided trek through the Gorge floor, taking in highlights like the Art Gallery, Wards Canyon, the Amphitheatre and Moss Garden. Then we’ll head back for a second day, this time at our own pace, climbing to Boolimba Bluff and wandering Warrumbah Bluff, with a picnic lunch under the gumtrees.

We’ll also have a day to slow things down — time for reading, chatting, or even trying some campfire damper — and a special half day visit to another cattle station nearby, where we’ll hear stories about pioneering life, sustainable grazing, and the outback way of living. Add in a night in Miles on the return and a surprise stop near Toowoomba, and we’ve got a trip that mixes walking, exploring, laughter, and plenty of time to just enjoy being together.

✔️ Carnarvon Gorge Full Day Hike exploring the Gorge floor between towering white sandstone cliffs and detours to explore : The Art Gallery, Wards Canyon, the Amphitheatre and the beautiful Moss Garden . Total of around 14km - Reasonable fitness, ability to cross creek stepping stones, short steep hill sections, rough surface and many steps.
✔️ 2nd Full Day Hike, this time we self explore Boolimba Bluff, and Warrumbah Bluff tracks, with picnic lunch at tables among the gumtrees
✔️ Included, is a day of Rest n Recreation, Reading, and Reflection - time for cooking some damper over the fire anyone?
✔️ We're in for a treat as we visit a Cattle Station with deep roots in Arcadia Valley, where Rowan's family has pioneered the land since the 1960's. Rowan will share stories of his father's early efforts, the land's transformation, and their dedication to sustainable farming. We'll get a hands-on glimpse of Outback life and their well balanced ecosystem, all while enjoying the warm Outback hospitality,

- If the minimum of 8 confirmed RSVP is not reached by 15 February 2026, the trip will not proceed and all payments (including the $250 deposit) will be refunded in full.
No RSVPs will be accepted after 12 April, 2026.
No resales or refunds processed after 12 April 2026, except under the goodwill / emergencies clause below.
Cancellations before 15 February, 2026 will receive a refund less the $250 non-refundable deposit.
Cancellations after 15 February 2026: I will endeavour to resell your place, buth this cannot be guaranteed. If your spot resells, a $500 cancellation/transfer fee (includes the initial $250 deposit) will be deducted from any refund due, along with any non-recoverable supplier costs. Refunds (less fees) are processed after confirmation of payment from the new participant. If you spot does not resell, no refund is available, except under the goodwill/emergencies clause below.
- Goodwill / emergencies: For genuine emergencies (eg. serious illness, bereavement) a partial refund of up to 40% may be considered, subject to recoverable costs from suppliers. Documentation may be requested.
Fitness Requirement:
-Due to the nature of this trip, including creek crossing, uneven tracks and steps in Carnarvon Gorge, a Grade 3 fitness level is required.
Admin Notes:
- Reselling a ticket is a courtesy, not an entitlement.
- Refunds are returned to your nominated bank account.
- If you resign or leave the group, the same cancellation/transfer terms still apply.
- Only members of our Singles Travel and Outings - Meetup Group (Brisbane) may attend. Guests or +1s are not permitted.
- Only organiser-approved members may purchase a resold ticket.
- Rooming options: Both Own and Twin-Share prices are offered - please select your preference when RSVPing. If a Twin-Share room is booked but only one person occupies it, the Own Room rate may apply.
Gents are required to book an Own Room, unless another gent RSVPs and both agree to Twin Share.
- A valid credit card and photo ID will be required at accommodation check-in for room security and incidentals.
- With the exception of included meals, all other meals and drinks are at your own expense.
- Please arrive on time at the nominated meeting point for departure -. late arrival may void your ticket with no refund.
- If you are prone to Motion sickness, please bring appropriate medication with you.

- In the rare event of significantly disruptive behaviour that impacts the group’s experience, the host reserves the right to discontinue that member’s participation. No refunds will be provided in such cases.
