Celebrate Valentine's Day with a challenging, off-trail winter adventure! To get into the spirit, wearing something red is mandatoryโ€”whether itโ€™s a jacket, a hat, or a bright red pair of gaiters.

### โ€‹๐ŸŒ The "Slow & Steady" Promise

โ€‹This is a slow-steady paced group hike. We move as a team and finish as a team.

  • โ€‹Important: If you are a "trail runner" or prefer to push a fast pace, this hike is not for you.
  • โ€‹We are here to enjoy the scenery, the company, and the journey at a relaxed, intentional rhythm.

โ€‹Attendance Policy: Priority will be given to club regulars and those with a consistent attendance record.

### โ€‹๐Ÿ•’ Logistics & Meeting Point

  • โ€‹Meetup Time: 8:30 AM
  • โ€‹Location: Somerset LRT Station, East Parking Lot (Opposite the Tim Hortons).
  • โ€‹Carpooling: Suggested contribution is $20/person.
  • โ€‹Time Commitment: 8โ€“9 hours. Please do not book evening plans, as off-trail navigation can be unpredictable.

### โ€‹โ„๏ธ Gear & Safety

โ€‹Winter conditions are in full effect. Microspikes, Headlamp are mandatory. * Traction: Microspikes (Required) + Gaiters (Highly recommended for deep snow).

  • โ€‹Poles: Very useful for the steep ascent/descent.
  • โ€‹Clothing: Technical layers/wool only. No cotton or jeans.
  • โ€‹Supplies: Personal first aid kit, plenty of water, and a celebratory lunch.

Your Hosts are volunteers and not trained guides. All participants are responsible for assessing the current road conditions, current weather conditions, your current physical condition, current trail conditions and current avalanche conditions for the trip and you are responsible for your safety and well-being. You are fully prepared with proper gear and you're physically fit to do this hike with the group.
