Heal from the Inner Critics, where Negativity Starts and Ends

You know what it’s like to have a negative thought that knocks you down when you’re trying to pick yourself up. Maybe a scene of future failure that makes you feel suddenly threatened, or the voice of someone from the past who really did say awful things about you. If you’re like most people, you start unconsciously reacting in ways so familiar you think this is who you are and the crisis is happening now. Some people become fighters, who fight back so automatically against negative thoughts that they’re soon picking fights with anyone they can blame for an offensive pattern. Other people become defeated victims, whose bodies go into exhaustion and pain so quickly from negative thinking that they feel hopeless and decide well, I guess I just can’t do my life.
But the good news is that you can do your life, and it doesn’t have to take years of training like meditation to rise above your own reactions. In fact, traditional practices are often part of the problem, as they further criticize you for being too attached, too sensitive, too needy, or something else that is normal for you. Forget old painful harsh rule systems. You are the self-creating creator who is more powerful than you were ever taught. You are always more ready than you know to set yourself free.
What you believe about yourself is the key. What you believe isn’t possible for you is what you won’t even be able to try. Repeating critical thoughts will stop you from trying the impossible. “Oh that’s a bad idea, only stupid bad people would consider doing that.” But it may be something you really need for your life, so you need to do it your way. Your mind becomes your enemy only when it’s taken over by false beliefs. “I wish I could do what other people can do but I can’t. Healing, manifesting, creativity, happiness, love, prosperity. Nope, I’m a failure. I guess there’s something wrong with me.” Of course, as soon as you agree with such thinking, more false beliefs and critical thoughts follow rapidly. Soon, you are what you believe and that’s all you can do.
Runaway negative thinking is based on false negative self-beliefs, which are ideas that simply aren’t healthy or true for you. But you’re holding on trying to make it work. To stop negative thinking many people think they need to do something they’ve haven’t done before. “Tell me a new technique or person who will fix this for me!” When manipulations fail, they feel worse and try harder. “I promise to do it right, I just need to stop feeling hurt, angry, scared, lonely or whatever!”
But doing something new isn’t the answer. You need to be something new. What you need to be is your true self, who may feel very different from what other people or society are validating. What devastates and cripples your life is believing and following other people’s wrong rules for you. Nobody else knows what’s best for you as much as you can! Learn to follow your own inner guidance, both emotional and spiritual. Then you won’t believe the false beliefs that make people suffer. You will succeed naturally when you know who you really are and what’s true for you. You will fall in love with yourself and let the Universe give you the most wonderful perfect life that you always wanted and needed. You will find your own ways to practice clear thinking, vibrant feeling, inner safety and outer prosperity.
For this meetup, consider what kinds of negative thought patterns you tend to get stuck in. What happens when your moods and physical symptoms become overwhelming? Be gentle and compassionate with yourself as you consider maybe all of your pain and struggle come from not understanding how life works for you. The wrong rules make you suffer, so maybe the right rules, set by yourself, would set you free. After some check-ins to share and relate, I’ll explain how we as spiritual beings must choose the beliefs that we want to experience. False negative beliefs drive the thoughts and situations that ruin life. You can release your past trauma and get a new future when you work with your higher self and soul to know what’s best for you. We’ll conclude with a guided meditation to observe and release the negative ego which drives inner critics, so we no longer belong in a world of negative people and unhealthy futures. You deserve to let yourself thrive in the best life that you always wanted.
