What we’re about
Join us to watch foreign films, independent films, shorts, documentaries, and classic films, and discuss them over dinner and drinks. Support The Magic Lantern Theatre, AMC Independent, The Bing Crosby Theater, Spokane film festivals, and other arthouse cinema in Spokane.
We charge membership dues of $15 per year to cover the costs charged by Meetup and to allow us to rent a theater once each year for a free film screening. There is a 90-day free trial period so you can come to some of our meetups before committing to pay dues.
Additional donations are welcome and can be given securely online on our home page. 100% of all donations go toward funding future events.

See all- SPLITSVILLE at the Magic LanternMagic Lantern Theatre, Spokane, WA
UPDATE 9/2--The Magic Lantern has released its schedule for the upcoming weekend, and I can confirm that we'll be seeing SPLITSVILLE on Saturday evening (9/6). It's an offbeat romantic comedy, starring Dakota Johnson and Adria Arjona. Here is a brief synopsis, and a trailer link:
When Ashley asks for a divorce, the good-natured Carey runs to his friends, Julie and Paul, for support. Their secret to happiness is an open marriage; that is, until Carey crosses the line and throws all of their relationships into chaos.
Splitsville trailerThe film begins at 5:30pm, and should end around 7:30pm. We'll then partake in dinner, drinks and conversation at Pure Northwest, just up the street from the theater. Please remember to update your RSVP accordingly, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.

Good evening, everyone. Aaron Spickelmire, Assistant Organizer, reaching out about our next Meetup event. It will be on Saturday, September 6 at the Magic Lantern Theater, and will start at approximately 5:30pm.Having communicated with the theater manager, Joe, recently, we'll most likely be seeing the new film SPLITSVILLE on the 6th. Once that's weekend schedule is officially released, I will update this announcement with additional details and notify you all of any changes. After the move we will walk to Pure Northwest, at the corner of Division and Main, for dinner, drinks and conversation.
If you plan to attend the film but not join the group for dinner, please set your RSVP to "No." That way, I can provide the restaurant with an accurate head count. Please reach out if you have any questions, and I look forward to seeing you all on the 6th. Your continued support of movie theaters, especially our local independent venues, is greatly appreciated.
