Ecstatic Dance

Hey lovely people 🌿

I’d like to invite you to spend a Saturday afternoon dancing, moving, and unwinding at an ecstatic dance event I’ve been really enjoying lately. It’s sometimes called a conscious or sober rave, and I’ve found these gatherings to be playful, freeing, and surprisingly powerful. I’d love to share the experience with more friends.

The event is happening in a big, beautiful church space with high ceilings and amazing acoustics, which really adds to the music and overall vibe.

Reya, our DJ and guide, will open the session with a ceremonial cacao drink and a short intention-setting moment. From there, she’ll take us on a musical journey—starting slow and gentle, building into energetic peaks, and eventually easing back into stillness. The final hour will be a sound journey led by Amy, using instruments like gongs, drums, and bowls to help us relax, ground, and integrate the experience.

What’s ecstatic dance?
It’s basically a free-form dance meditation. There’s no choreography, no right or wrong way to move—just you, the music, and whatever your body wants to do. The music spans lots of genres (slow to fast, classical to psytrance, drum & bass to dub), and everything is welcome.

What’s a sound journey?
It’s a deeply relaxing, meditative experience using sound and vibration to calm the nervous system and bring you into a really peaceful state.

A few important notes:
• Even though it’s in a church, it’s not religious at all—everyone’s welcome, whatever your beliefs.
• Incense will be used, so let me know if you have any allergies or sensitivities.
• The cacao is made with cinnamon, ginger, and a little coconut sugar—please tell me if you’re allergic to any of these.
• This is a fully sober space, so please don’t have alcohol or drugs beforehand (even for nerves). The whole point is staying present and aware.

Cost:
It’s £33.33 per person, which you can send to me, and I’ll book the tickets for us. If more people join, the price might drop to about £27.80 each, and I’ll send any extra back closer to the event.
