What we’re about

Welcome to Steel City Hangouts 20+ (Sheffield)!
Our group is all about making new friends, exploring everything Sheffield has to offer. We welcome anyone who is 20 and over (with a relatively recent profile photo), whether you're new to the city or have been here for years. Our goal is to bring together a diverse group of people who are open minded or who just share a love for this wonderful city!
At our events, we'll be checking out the best restaurants, bars, events. From rock climbing to hockey matches, cinema trips, tours, group dancing, pottery, cafes and everything in between. Whether you're looking for a fun night out with friends or to forge new friendships, maybe try something new, Steel City Hangouts 20+ has got you covered!

Ice skating is a great way to get some exercise and meet new people!

Meet just inside the lobby of Ice Sheffield at 19:20. We'll head down to the ice at 19:30 to get kitted out, so if you're late then meet us on the ice.

Tickets are £9.50 for the 1h 20m session - skate hire is included. Wrap up warm if you don't plan to race around because it can get a little chilly on the ice. Bring thick socks!

Sheffield's rich cultural diversity is well represented in its wide range of restaurants and food outlets. We will arrange a monthly meetup to try as many of these restaurants as possible.

April's restaurant will be Mavi Rüya

MENU

Mavi Rüya in Turkish means 'dream', and it is a dream come true as this restaurant takes you on a journey all the way to Anatolia. Its mission is simple: to serve delicious, food that guests will want to return to week after week.

The venue is exclusively styled to allow you to experience traditional Turkish culture - everything from the floor tiles to the light fittings are sourced from Turkiye before being delivered to Sheffield’s own Abbeydale Road.

If you are a Foodie, this one is a must try!

Pronounced kay-lee this is a great fun way to spend an evening, and a great workout too! You'll often find ceilidhs at weddings because everyone knows how fun they are!

All the dances are called, so someone at the front will give you instructions beforehand and during the dance, so you'll understand the moves but it doesn't matter if you forget, infact it's funnier if you mess it up!

Meet at 7.45pm in The Edge Bar, upstairs at The Edge. Bring cash for the ceilidh, though it's card only for the bar. Prices for entry is as follows:
