What we’re about
Outdoor adventure group, based in Sydney and venturing far beyond!
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Wagstaff to Avoca Beach - 23km (Hard)Palm Beach Ferries, Palm Beach, NS
As there are limited get out points and some around 700m elevation I have marked this as a hard walk
We'll meet by the Palm Beach Ferry Wharf at 8:45 am sharp.
We will catch the 9 am ferry to Wagstaff (cost is $13.20) and start our walk via the foreshore to Hardys Bay then onto Killcare Beach where we join the stunning Bouddi Coastal Walk at Putty beach.
We follow this track to Maitland Bay Beach after crossing the beach we will stop for a short 15min break.
We then continue on to the delightfully named Little Beach where we will stop for some lunch, unfortunately the amenities are limited on this walk so it is essential you bring sufficient food and water for the entire day. However there are some toilets and places to eat your lunch at Little beach.
From Little beach we continue through the Buddie National Park to cross MacMasters Beach and on to Copacabana beach.
From Copa we continue on the coast track upto Captain Cook lookout (I have never seen him there but worth looking out anyhow ) then descend to Winnie Bay before the final ascent through some stunning bush and on to our final destination of Avoca BeachWe should arrive no later than 4:30 pm.
The bus from Avoca Beach to Gosford leaves at 25 min to the hour every hour. From Gosford you can catch a train back to Sydney or other destination.
The intention would be to catch the first available bus from Avoca and head to Gosford and trains back to Sydney or your destination (the bus is only every hour from Avoca).
Distance: - 23 km
Type of Walk: This walk is a full day adventure, mostay through the Bouddi national park trails and across beaches, as there are limited get out points this is not recommended for first time walkers.
Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and must average about 4 km per hour to finish on time. I have marked this as hard due to the steep ascents, beach walking and no exit after we reach Putty Beach till the end.
What to bring: Good walking shoes/boots or trainers; Hat, sunscreen, 2.5 – 3 litres of water, limited refill available along the way; hydralytes; snacks and one lunch; light rain jacket depending on conditions, torch.
Suggested Donation: $10
