Stoicism in Practice: Contemplation of the Sage (Harbour Histories - WOOLLARAH)
Details
Our next Stoicism in Practice series, we’re stepping back in time to contemplate the collective wisdom and resilience of Sydney's history.
Join us for a fascinating historical talk, 'Harbour Histories: Work, Leisure and Transformation,' presented by the Woollahra Libraries Local History team.
This event is a perfect fit for our practice because it offers a historical "View from Above." Presenters Clio Davidson-Lynch and Jane Britten will use maps and stories to trace the harbour’s evolution—from industrial wharves to leisure shores. By reflecting on the diligence and adaptability (Temperance and Wisdom) of the countless people who shaped this landscape, we gain perspective and an appreciation for the enduring human spirit.
Contemplating this collective "sage" grounds us in our own community and strengthens our sense of duty (Justice).
This is a FREE event: each RSVP will need to register online at Harbour Histories: Work, Leisure and Transformation | Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf
