Discovering the Druze: An overview of History, Faith, and Identity

Details

The Druze community has played a unique and evolving role in the past and modern history of the Middle East. With most of their population residing in Lebanon, Syria, and Israel—and a presence in other parts of the world, including Australia—the Druze have long intrigued scholars and historians alike.
Their faith, often regarded as esoteric and philosophical, sets them apart from other religious traditions in the region. But who are the Druze? Where did they originate? How does their faith fit within the complex tapestry of Middle Eastern religions?
Join us for an enlightening discussion with Firas Halawani—a Druze community member, retired IT veteran, and critical thinker in the club—as he sheds light on these questions and more, offering valuable insights for the inquisitive mind.
