Meeting Point: Wolli Creek Station Exit. Up stairs to "Lokal Cafe" at pedestrian crossing.
Walk to Waterfront Park, then Discovery Point Park. We then cross to Kendrick Park. From here we cut around the side of Tempe Station and walk past the River Canoe Club of NSW. The trail now follows along the west side of the Cooks River.
Join to Warren Park, then Steel Park, stop 10 minutes, bathrooms, water fountain, rehydrate. Hitting the Jackson Track will be fun, down to the creek. Little lizards scramble to hide as we approach, this area has a real jungle feel. Entry to Wolli Creek Walking Track is a breeze, you will enjoy! Next is the Turella Reserve.
Crossing over to Nanny Goat Hill, be surprised by a huge Bat Colony called "Grey Headed Flying Fox Camp" We then join up to Wolli Creek Regional Park and continue to Girrahween Park. From many parklands we make our way through Illoura Reserve along the "Bray Wetlands Track" to reach Bexley North.
Last section Kingsgrove Avenue Reserve to Kingsgrove Pub! (optional) Let's Lunch!
If you don’t live in the area, you can easily access this peaceful walk in the future from one of the train stations along the route, Turella, Bardwell Park, Bexley North.
Distance: 11km - (approximately 3 hours)
Type of Walk: Bush walks, dirt tracks, bush paths, streets paths, rivers, creeks.
Difficulty: Easy/Moderate (Moderate because of distance)
Walking Pace: An easy steady pace at 4km-4.25 per hour.
What to Bring: Comfortable outfit, boots/runners, a litre of water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, a raincoat just in case of wet weather. Bring your happy personality too!
