Grassington, Burnsall, Linton Circular

6.5 miles - Easy/Moderate

With some rural, possibly muddy paths & stiles, small hills / an opportunity to end the walk at Burnsall at 3 miles.

Starting in the village of Grassington we will take the path alongside the river Wharfe crossing at Hebden suspension bridge-and on to our first stop at the small village of Burnsall. From here we cross fields & stiles to the small hamlet of Thorpe & then on to the village of Linton. From Linton it is a short walk down minor roads to Linton Falls & back into Grassington.

Those wanting to shorten the walk can leave the walk at Burnsall catching bus 874 to Ilkley at 13:23, otherwise we shall end in Grassington at around 14:00-14:30. There are cafes & pubs in Grassington.

Out: Catch bus 874 from Wetherby (0835), Leeds (0910), Ilkley (1020) connecting with the 864 leaving Bradford (0925) arriving at Grassington (1106) or 72 from Skipton leaving (1030) arr. Grassington at (1050.) to meet at National Park Centre at 11.10.

Return: Grassington on 874 at (1700) connecting with 864 to Bradford at Ilkley (1750), or on 72 to Skipton at (1500) or (1600). (1700) or (1800). From Skipton there are options to catch the 873 (1530) to Ilkley or 864 (1720) back to Ilkley & Bradford, or trains to Ilkley and Bradford. From Skipton there are options to catch the 873 (1530) to Ilkley or 864 (1720) back to Ilkley & Bradford, or trains to Ilkley and Bradford.

(There is also the option to travel further north at 1510 to Kettlewell for an hour- remember to get a Dales Rover day ticket if you plan to do this costing just £10 for day if you don't have a bus pass.)
