Riverdale Park 5K Run / Walk / Jog
5K every week till the snows come down! Or try to!
We'll meet by the track. I'll be there early to warm up. We will start the 5K exactly at 9:30am. As mentioned in the About Us,
* Using the park track we can all go at our own pace and never really be left behind unless we all finish way ahead of you. :D I think an hour is enough time to dedicate to the run. I'm pretty slow, so you will likely have me around for most of the hour.
* Members are free to leave the run whenever they want.
* Bring your kids, your pets, your partners, etc.
* All encouraged to stick around afterwards and enjoy the park or neighbourhood on your own.
* Let's get stronger, healthier and foster a great community at the same time.
We also welcome runners who are not in our neighbourhood and want to join us spiritually and run from their own neighbourhoods. :-) Imagine how much healthier and communal the world would be if we all stopped for an hour once in a while to run together; re-centring and re-charging together?

Maddaddam Ballet brings Margaret Atwood's Vision to Life
On **Sunday June 21st,** **see the final ballet of the Season - Maddaddam, a joint effort with The Royal Ballet in the UK!** To experience *MADDADDAM* is to be immersed in the imagination and unflinching moral acuity of Canada’s Margaret Atwood on subjects of rampant technological experimentation, colonialism and greed. Wayne McGregor’s 2022 co-production with The Royal Ballet brings Atwood’s post-apocalyptic MaddAddam trilogy to life, exploring themes of extinction and invention, hubris and humanity, spliced together with Atwood’s signature activism and connection to Canada. Scored by one of the greatest living composers, Max Richter, *MADDADDAM* is an unforgettable production for our time. My seat is Ring 3, Row C seat 321 and I hope there may be some takers. **Purchase Maddaddam on Sunday June 21st at 2pm.**
**COST**
Regular: $56 - 264 includes taxes and fees.
Rush: A limited number of tickets will go on sale at 11:00am on the day of the performance, subject to availability. Discounts vary per performance. **SIGNING-UP**
* **Simply RSVP Yes, [purchase](https://my.ballet.ca/3197/3206) your ticket and post your seat number and I will move you to attending.**
* If you plan to buy RUSH, please state that in your RSVP, so I can include you in the pre-mail and we can meet you.
* RSVPs close 1 day prior, and cancellations after will result in a No Show and impact future attendance.
* A reminder will go out the day before with my cell and details when to meet, etc.

100% vegan plant-based picnic potluck - the summer edition!
**Awesome first day of summer is here!**
Potlucks are full of terrific food & lovely faces - a great opportunity to socialize over deliciousness. Let's celebrate our sunny memories with a Vegan Potluck at Christie Pits Park - located beside Christie subway station. This is your chance to meet other like-minded individuals and be part of a vibrant community!
Make sure to bring a *vegan* dish to share, or to eat if you're not into the sharing thing. In order to limit waste, please bring your own reusable plates, water bottle, utensils and serving ware and all will be yum! Bring your picnic blanket(s) and water to stay hydrated if you'd like.
Feel free to bring a project to chill with after eating - soccer ball, frisbee, volleyball, board games, cards, a guitar or speaker, your ping pong or crochet set or just your fabulousness!
Some rules -
*For the new vegans, first timers, or veg curious, please ensure that the food you bring to share be* all \*plant-based, so no honey or dairy/cheese/yogurt/butter/cream etc., and obviously no eggs/fish/poultry/meat or any animal-derived ingredients like food colours or additives. When in doubt, Google is your best friend! A reminder to please label the ingredients you used. Some vegans care about the fact that you may have fried meat in a certain fryer before frying their vegan food in the same oil. Mindfulness and minimalism goes a long way in creating a positive and meaningful experience for all.
* All garbage and recyclable items must be thrown out by the end of the party.
* The park must be left reasonably clean at the end of the party/event. This means no large spills, excessive garbage/debris, or personal belongings can be left after the event.
* Guests don't have to be Vegan, but must respect this is a Vegan event and bring only Vegan foods
* No alcohol - the venue doesn't allow for this
* Bring your own reusable plates, utensils and serving ware
* Help cleaning up after the event is over. Any mess or damage will jeopardize the ability to have events at this venue again
**Allergy Alert**
\*Please include an ingredient list, so people with allergies can make good life choices. Consider bringing a gluten-free or nut-free or sugar-free dish to share. Extending caring to more than just sharing!
**Please note:** Food that contains animal and animal by-products are not allowed. Also, please bring your own utensils/containers to eliminate single-use waste.
Please get in touch with one of the organizers directly on Meetup or use the Comments area if needed. As in the past, we'll hope to find a table in the main pavilion in the center of the park, however there are no guarantees as it is first-come, first-serve, on a busy summer afternoon. We will update the page with a specific map/coordinates on the day of.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
