Volleyball - Advanced Beginners (B) - Bluemont Park
Volleyball - Advanced Beginners (B) - Bluemont Park
If you’ve already learned the basics of volleyball and want to keep improving your skills while having fun, this event is for you! **Number of Nets:** 3 **How to find us:** Park in the South Bluemont Parking Area and walk toward the south end of the lot. Near the end, you’ll see a bridge on your left—cross it. We’ll be on the field to the left of the picnic pavilion. **Skill Level:** Advanced Beginner (click [here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PojSi4qdlRsv1msCHhvpQ43iDc4FfzQwpWCc3kafVMY/mobilebasic) for details). **Reminders** 1. Attendance: We’ve noticed that the waitlist is growing, so please make sure your name is on the Going list if you plan to play. Our number of nets is limited so this helps avoid too many rotations. If your name is on the list but you don’t show up, it will count as an absence according to Smiley Social rules. Please update your RSVP at least 12 hours in advance if your plans change. 2. Injuries: Play safely and be mindful of others on the court. Respect positions and avoid risky moves that could lead to injury. If you’re not sure the ball is yours, call it before going for it to avoid collisions. 3. Game Rules: Let’s follow the basic volleyball rules, especially the three-touch rule so we can play properly and improve as a team! **Smiley Social documents:** 1. Volunteer Night @ The Warehouse
Volunteer Night @ The Warehouse
Come volunteer with us refurbishing donated bicycles so that they can be used again by the community! This event is open to both new and existing volunteers. No mechanical experience is necessary. Note: The warehouse location is in the alley behind 1502 Mt Vernon Ave. Enter through the gray door next to a roll-down garage door. If you drive to the location, be sure to park in the street, not in the alleys or parking lots surrounding the warehouse. And wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty with bicycle grease! Please be aware that volunteers under 18 need a parent or guardian to accompany them to their first volunteer experience and sign a liability waiver, while volunteers under 16 need a parent or guardian to accompany them at all times while volunteering with Vélocity.

Five directors present five interwoven stories mostly set in a nondescript bar. The characters are anything but nondescript, with their diverse interests and intentions colliding in strange ways. What they drink, why they drink, and how they drink are all part of the stories, with fate, coincidence, and even a touch of the supernatural weaving their way into the mix. ■ Title — *Life on the Rocks* ■ Directors — Joanna Bowzer, Tim Gagliardo ■ Cast — Zach Alden, Bonnie Bedelia, Jasmine Hester ■ Unrated, suitable for teens and adults ■ ©2021 \| 1h 30m \| Drama ■ Watch it free with ads on Fandango: https://athome.fandango.com/content/browse/details/Life-on-the-Rocks/1747115 ■ Watch it free with ads on Fawesome: https://fawesome.tv/movies/10678832/life-on-the-rocks ■ Watch it free with ads on Tubi: https://tubitv.com/movies/707549/life-on-the-rocks ■ Available free without ads to Hoopla subscribers: https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/18367241 ■ Available free without ads to Amazon Prime members: https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.2039b5da-fb1c-4c8e-b29b-1f498db26285 ■ As with most of our online features, you can watch this one whenever you like. Discussion Group - Should We Ever Correct a Partner's Behavior?
Discussion Group - Should We Ever Correct a Partner's Behavior?
Let's get together in a warm and open atmosphere to talk about ethical non-monogamy and how we actually do it. Ask for advice, give some in return, meet and mingle with your peers. Let's kick back and get to know each other and learn a few things. TOPIC: Michael Buble says in one of his songs, "you'll make me work so we can work to work it out." Uh, who is in charge in this lyric? Is it actually okay to "make" a partner work it out? Is there any appropriate moment to correct a partner's behavior? The location of our group will rotate between VA and MD. This week, we'll be in Silver Spring, MD, at the home of the lovely and talented Ripley the Doggo. As usual we'll send out the details on the morning of the event. FOOD: bring food that supports the diet you are undoubtedly on this month. Please consider bringing a vegetarian or vegan option; we do currently have active members who need these options. Cut-up fresh fruit is always great! If you don't feel like schlepping, we also always appreciate a donation. Please note: we share the address on the morning of the meeting, via the messaging/email system here. If you don’t have the details by Friday noon, you will need to message us directly to get them.

D.A.D.S. Workout
D.A.D.S. Workout
If you’re a dad over 35, you probably feel it: * Your energy isn’t what it used to be. * Work stress drains you before you even get home. * The weight has crept on around the middle. * Your kids still have endless energy, but keeping up with them feels harder every year. And deep down, you know your family looks to you as the example. If you’re running on empty, short on patience, and out of shape, that’s the standard you set at home. The **D.A.D.S. Program (Dads Achieving Discipline & Strength)** was built for men like you. Ordinary guys with jobs, families, and full schedules who want to: * **Reclaim strength** so you feel capable, athletic, and confident again. * **Boost energy** so you’re sharp at work and fully present with your family. * **Drop the aches, stiffness, and sluggishness** that make you feel older than you are. * **Find balance and accountability** by training alongside other dads in the same fight. * **Crush male loneliness** by connecting with men who “get it” and have your back. Here’s the best part: You don’t need to be a seasoned gym rat. This is designed for **beginner to intermediate exercisers**—dads who may have been out of the gym for years or have never had a structured program, but know it’s time to get serious. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, we’re hosting **Meet-Up Workouts from 6:00–6:45 AM.** No strings attached. Just one powerful hour that could be the turning point in your health, energy, and family life. There are only **8 spots available**, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Location: Revolutionary Fitness - 215 N. Payne St., Alexandria, Va 22314 Every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 6:00–6:45 AM To claim your spot, call/text 703-783-2316 or email sign up directly at [https://go.thefitrevolution.com/dads](https://go.thefitrevolution.com/dads) Stop putting yourself last.
