Wilder Series: Beaver Valley Mega Hike
**Please note the only way to register for this adventure is on [our website.](https://www.wildernessunion.com/adventures/beaver-valley-26)**
***Get ready for one of the hardest day-hike adventures in Wilderness Union history!***
Welcome to the next installment of the Wilder Series: this gorgeous, nearly 30km hike through Beaver Valley is not for the faint of heart. The pay off, however, is incredible, as you’ll pass multiple waterfalls, experienec stunning hilltop views and finish with a huge sense of accomplishment for completing this challenging adventure.
While more rural than wild, you will feel immersed in remote nature with few other people to be found as you trek along the trail. You can expect lush forest canopies, diverse terrain and a great group to adventure onwards with. Due to the length of this adventure, we will move at a continuous pace of 3-3.5km per hour.
While Ontario is fairly flat, this loop has significant elevation gain. You can expect a lot of ascents and descents throughout the day, which will make the distance covered more challenging but the views that much more exquisite.
Please note that attendees will need a high fitness level to successfully complete this adventure. This will be a serious challenge!
**Highlights**
**Stunning waterfalls:** Experience two of Ontario’s most stunning water features- Eugenia Falls and Hogg’s Falls.
**Secluded wilderness:** Enjoy the feeling of near total seclusion on the trail. Just you, the forest and your fellow adventurers.
**Type 2 fun:** This adventure will not be easy but, for those willing to meet the challenge, it will be supremely rewarding!
**Event cost: $50+HST (for explorer members) - $50 optional transport available.**
**Register [here.](https://www.wildernessunion.com/adventures/beaver-valley-26)**
**About Wilderness Union**
Wilderness Union is deliberate about building an outdoors community that connects you to the life-changing magic of the outdoors and helps you find your people.
Members range from 20-40 years old. The group is a mix of GTA locals and newcomers to Toronto from within Canada and abroad.
Attendance numbers on Meetup don't reflect our actual event attendance - we typically have 15-20 community members at each event. Large enough that there's someone new to meet but small enough that it's not overwhelming!

Sunny Sunnybrook ~6.5 km
This week we'll be visiting Sunnybrook Park, no guarantees that it'll be sunny though.
Our group will leave at the posted time, so please arrive early. Please cancel your RSVP if you can't make it.
How fast, how far? Assume 4.5 km/h for a distance of ~6.5km. The path is a mixture of paved and dirt trails so be prepared for anything. The route is a "there and back again", so we will finish where we originally start from.
Bring water, a snack, and hiking footwear for a distance walk.
We usually go out for coffee after our hike. This time we'll be going to Baretto's Caffe, located at
1262 Don Mills Road unit 106

Riverdale Park - Outdoor Sports and Chill
Hello hello,
Last week the weather had other plans. This week, I am trying.
Weather permitting, I'll update if the forecast turns on us again. Here's hoping it doesn't.
We're claiming a patch of park like it's ours (it's not) for an afternoon of games, sports, and the kind of low-stakes chaos that happens when you put people in sunlight. Frisbee, volleyball, ball sports, some other games here and there.
Meetup Spot: Riverdale park East. https://maps.app.goo.gl/MvZvbJy7C9KNGKP88
(I may update the location depending upon free patch of land for us)
**Bring:** Any outdoor games / Sports you would like to play, water (Or beer🍺), snacks, and a blanket to relax after the cardio.
I'll bring a frisbee and volleyball.
*See you on the hill. ☀️*

🏡🌿 THE BRIDLE PATH (DRAKE’S MANSION) & EDWARDS GARDENS WALK 🌿🏡
🏡🌿 **THE BRIDLE PATH (DRAKE’S MANSION) & EDWARDS GARDENS WALK** 🌿🏡
Luxury Streets, Hidden Trails & A Garden Escape
Some parts of Toronto feel like a completely different world — and this walk takes you right through them.
Join us for a social walk through The Bridle Path, one of the most exclusive and wealthiest neighbourhoods in the city — known for its massive estates, gated homes, and quiet, tree-lined streets.
This is where celebrities and icons have lived, including Drake and the late Gordon Lightfoot. It’s the kind of area where the houses don’t just impress — they *shock*.
From there, we’ll shift into nature and make our way toward Edwards Gardens, where things slow down with flowers, pathways, and a peaceful break in the middle of the walk.
This is not a formal tour.
It’s a social walk — a mix of city curiosity, nature, and good conversation.

**🚶♂️ What We’ll Do**
We’ll begin in the Bridle Path area, walking through the neighbourhood to take in some of the largest and most impressive homes in Toronto.
From there, we’ll head toward Edwards Gardens, where we’ll take about a 30-minute break to relax, explore, and enjoy the flowers.
After the break, we’ll continue along parts of the Don River trail, finishing near Eglinton & Don Mills.
For those who want, we can grab something casual afterward at Tim Hortons or McDonald's. ☕🍔
You’re welcome to join or head out whenever you like.

**🌦️ Weather & Expectations**
This walk happens rain or shine.
Please come prepared for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
The route is moderate and includes a mix of neighbourhood streets and park trails.
Also — this is NOT a guided or historical tour. I’ll share bits of context casually, but the focus is on being social and enjoying the walk.

Kick-off Riverdale Park 5K Run / Walk / Jog
I think we're ready to start this group's running season! 5K every week till the snows come down! Or try to! This seems like a good Sunday to start as the temperature and sunlight should all be moderate. Also, plenty of time to prepare with stretch and strength if you haven't run since last year!
BTW, I've learned there is a lot of benefit to starting with slow jogging - rather than walking. Please look that up, if you are slow - like me - and want to improve your endurance, consistency, aerobic and anaerobic capacity.
We'll meet by the track. I'll be there early to warm up. We will start the 5K exactly at 9:30am. As mentioned in the About Us,
* Using the park track we can all go at our own pace and never really be left behind unless we all finish way ahead of you. :D I think an hour is enough time to dedicate to the run. I'm pretty slow, so you will likely have me around for most of the hour.
* Members are free to leave the run whenever they want.
* Bring your kids, your pets, your partners, etc.
* All encouraged to stick around afterwards and enjoy the park or neighbourhood on your own.
* Let's get stronger, healthier and foster a great community at the same time.
* As part of our kick-off, I am open to heading off to get some brunch on the Danforth afterwards, if anybody is interested! Lots of great options there!
We also welcome runners who are not in our neighbourhood and want to join us spiritually and run from their own neighbourhoods. :-) Imagine how much healthier and communal the world would be if we all stopped for an hour once in a while to run together; re-centring and re-charging together?
🌲🥾 CROTHERS WOODS TRAIL HIKE & DAIRY QUEEN STOP 🥾🍦
🌲🥾 **CROTHERS WOODS TRAIL HIKE & DAIRY QUEEN STOP** 🥾🍦
Real Trails, A Solid Climb & An Ice Cream Finish
Toronto doesn’t have many *true* hiking experiences — but this is one of them.
Join us for a more active, nature-focused walk through Crothers Woods, one of the city’s best spots if you’re looking for something that actually feels like a hike.
This isn’t your typical flat city stroll.
There are hills, forest paths, and a proper climb — especially at the end (Pottery Road 👀).
But don’t worry… we’ve got a reward waiting.
This is not a formal tour.
It’s a social hike — a bit more effort, a bit more nature, and a great group to do it with.
📲 **Join Our WhatsApp Group:**[ Click here to join](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DRFTkxRlHS4B3IL1lMleUd)
\*\*\*
**🚶♂️ What We’ll Do**
We’ll start at Broadview Station and head south along Broadview before making our way down Pottery Road into the Don Valley.
From there, we’ll connect to the Don Valley trails and enter Crothers Woods, where we’ll hike through forested paths and take a short break along the way.
After the hike, we’ll make our way back — finishing with the climb up Pottery Road (the final challenge 💪).
And then… we reward ourselves with a stop at Dairy Queen for some well-earned ice cream. 🍦
We’ll end back near Broadview Station.
\*\*\*
🌦️ **Weather & Expectations**
This hike happens rain or shine.
Please come prepared — trails may be muddy, and conditions can vary.
This is a slightly more challenging walk than most of our events:
✔️ Uneven trails
✔️ Some hills
✔️ One bigger climb at the end
Good footwear is important.
Also — this is NOT a guided or historical tour. It’s about movement, nature, and being social.
