DubJUG 266: Software Security
Log4j vulnerabilites and North Korean (allegedly) hackers infiltrating Flutter MacOS apps.
Meet ReversingLabs' Kadi McKean and Frithjof Hoffmann for DubJUG 266 on Tuesday 26th May for an intriguing night of software security stories.
As Kadi will demonstrate, simple stuff that has gone so wrong, you'll wonder how these companies, well... got it so wrong!

Meet up, Warm up, and Get Moving to Get Fit :)
We will start the session with some light stretching exercises to warm us up, and help to prepare us for the run. The pace of the run will be steady, depending on who is running with us on the day.
Days when we have a large group we may break into multiple groups, each operating independently at their own pace.
Saturdays are good for intermediate runners, and is usually a 10km run, again at a steady pace.
If you're looking to get into running, come along on Tuesday or Thursday mornings and I will coach you, at your pace, to get you up to running (jogging) to 5km without stops. The only thing I will ask, if you're a beginner, is that you're able to walk for approx 30 minutes at a relaxed pace.
PLEASE NOTE: That, if you RSVP a particular event, then please ensure that you attend, as there may be other members relying on you for company on the run.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Any run or activity that you participate in with the group will be at your own risk.
Usually we have a post run (after our cool down) coffee in the Dash container at the Hole in the Wall pub.
Tuesday Regular Footy
Weekly pickup game, been running consistently for a while now. Good group of players, decent level -not too serious, not a kick-about either. 6 a side pitch, ball and bibs sorted.
**€8 per person** — covers the pitch booking at SportsCo plus a bit for the
equipment. I book the pitch, show up early, bring the balls and bibs, sort the teams on the night. I'm playing too, so it's not a managed session — just someone keeping it organised so it actually happens every week.
Bring boots that work on turf, no metal studs, shin pads if you're used to wearing them, and water.
We cap at 12. If you book and can't make it, cancel early so someone off the waitlist can jump in.
That's it — see you there.
Socrates Cafe Dun Laoghaire: What's the Difference Between Knowledge and Wisdom?
It's been said that knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, but wisdom is knowing **not** to put it in a fruit salad. How do we reckon the difference between knowledge and wisdom? Is it possible to have one without the other, or does one depend upon the other? Does wisdom always arrive with age? Is more and more knowledge of any value in our post-information culture? Consider these and other questions at Socrates Cafe in Dun Laoghaire; buy a drink at the bar and add your voice, your point of view, to this important conversation.

Bike Ride - Pickerington Ponds to Three Creeks
**Weather permitting**, we’ll take a casual ride from Pickerington Ponds (Glacier Knoll) to Three Creeks and back.
Distance is **18–25 miles**, depending on where we turn around and whether we add a side loop.
Pace is around **12 mph**, but this is a fun, no‑drop ride — we can slow down as needed.
Here’s the **map** showing Glacier Knoll (bike), Confluence Park (flag), and BrewDog: [https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit..](https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit..).

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for June is "Roadtrip"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
