Hi everyone! (pre-pandemic information) If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us on Monday evenings from 6pm until the pub closes around 11pm. Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as regular members will bring some along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already. You work late? No worries - you can join us any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 6pm (attendees tend to arrive around 6:30 or 7pm), don't worry :-) Everyone comes and goes when they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or the last to leave, Please write in the comments what time you expect to arrive at the pub, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long. We are a relaxed and friendly group, made up of both natives and foreigners, of locals and those living further afield, happy to welcome newbies and regulars. Events are free to attend, but it is respectable to the public venues we hold them at if you can buy at least one drink or some food while you are present, just like anyone else at the pub would do. If you would like to contribute towards the costs of running of this group, feel free to buy the host(s) a drink of their choice when you see them, for which they'd be very grateful. This saves money that can be put towards the Meetup subscription fees and buying the games that we all play. The George is a reasonably-priced 'local' pub in the Docklands, near Canary Wharf, just 1 minute walk from Crossharbour DLR station, or about 15 minutes walk from the Canary Wharf Jubilee line station. It was back in 2011 that the very first Dinner Club took place. Here we are 15 years later meeting each month for an evening of food and fellowship. So, the next two Dinner Club meals are to celebrate Dinner Club's 15 years - with this first meal at the lovely L'ulivo Italian restaurant on Villiers Street just next door to Charing Cross Station. *Here at L'ulivo Charing Cross, located in 23 Villiers St (loo-lee-voh), our customers are the number one priority, and we‘ve been taking care of them our way for years. This is a great opportunity to meet and chat to others coming for the meal in a more relaxed and informal setting before going for the meal. Our table at L'Ulivo is booked for 7.30pm. Please meet us there if you are not attending pre-dinner drinks. Our previous meal at L'Ulivo was delicious and the staff were very attentive - so this should be a lovely way to start our 15th birthday celebrations. If you would like to come along for this meal, please RSVP as soon as you can. You will need to pay a deposit of £11. £10 of which will go to your meal and the remaining £1 is split between PayPal and Meetup costs. Meetup will also charge a 'handling fee' that is part of their terms and conditions for hosting the group on their website. I do not need pre-orders for this meal as we will order on the night. Following the meal, for those of us that wish to, we will go on for post-dinner drinks (probably either back at Retro Bar or at Halfway to Heaven). This is a lovely way of rounding off the evening but is also non-compulsory to attend. So, come along and celebrate 15 years years of Dinner Club - it'll be great to see you.

This is an informal Open Play session for players of all levels who want quality table time in a relaxed but high-energy setting. There is no coaching, just the freedom to train, play games, and mix with others throughout the session. Most attendees come alone. The manager will suggest partner changes roughly every 15 minutes to keep things fresh, though rotation is optional. Spare bats are available to borrow at no extra cost. GSM Badminton Club is a weekly daytime badminton club based in Hackney. The club is aimed at players of all abilities but is not suitable for beginners. If you want to improve your badminton skills or just enjoy playing the game with like minded players in a friendly sporting environment, then this is the club for you to come and meet new badminton buddies as well as having fun and keeping fit. The club meet every Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm. Cost per session is £10 Good quality feather shuttles will be provided. Additional courts will be booked if needed i.e. if players exceed 8 or more.
