NYE in Transylvania: Wild Road Trip, Bisons & Ice Hotel
NYE in Transylvania: Wild Road Trip, Bisons & Ice Hotel
Are you tired of the usual expensive and boring New Year's Eve parties? Join us for a unique adventure to start 2026! 🎆 I'm **Francesco**, a biologist and explorer. I have organized a **7-day trip to Romania** (Dec 30 - Jan 6) that combines an authentic Urban NYE with a wild Road Trip into the heart of Transylvania. **🗺️ THE PLAN** **PART 1: The Urban Warm-up (Dec 30 - Jan 1)** 📍 **Timișoara:** We will explore the "Little Vienna" of Romania. * No tourist traps: we’ll hunt for **hidden Jazz Clubs**, drink fresh unpasteurized beer at the factory, and explore the communist history. * **NYE Night:** We celebrate in the main square with the locals and fireworks, then move to a cool pub to welcome the new year. **PART 2: Into the Wild Road Trip (Jan 1 - Jan 5)** We pick up our car and head to the mountains! 🚗 * 🦬 **Wildlife:** We’ll track **European Bisons** in the snow at the Hațeg Reserve. * 🏰 **Gothic Vibes:** Visit **Corvin Castle** (one of the spookiest and most beautiful castles in Europe). * ❄️ **Snow & Trekking:** Base in **Sibiu** (Medieval city) + a day of accessible winter hiking in **Păltiniș**. * 🧊 **The Ice Hotel:** Driving the legendary **Transfăgărășan Road** up to the frozen Bâlea Waterfall to see the famous Hotel of Ice. **👀 WHO IS THIS FOR?** I'm looking for 2-3 chill, open-minded travel buddies (20-40s). If you prefer nature, good conversations, and a snowy adventure over a chaotic disco, you are the perfect fit! **💰 COSTS & LOGISTICS** I have already arranged the logistics (Car Rental + Itinerary). * **Style:** Low-cost but smart (Hostels/Guesthouses). * **Budget:** We share the costs (Fuel/Food) and there is a fixed fee that covers the **Car Rental and Accommodation** for the whole week. **📅 DATES:** Dec 30th to Jan 6th. **📍 MEETING POINT:** Timișoara. **👉 HOW TO JOIN:** This is a small group (max 4 people in the car). **Send me a direct message here on Meetup or contact me on IG: pangolin_travel.**

Free Mixed Football @ Regents Park
Free Mixed Football @ Regents Park
**Beginner friendly mixed football** A friendly mixed gender football game in Regents Park. Equipment such as balls, goals and bibs will be provided. You will have the choice of playing in a beginner friendly or intermediate level game. **About Social Sports Mix** Social Sports Mix is for anyone interested in playing mixed gender sports and meeting new people in London. This event happens every Sunday throughout the Summer. You can join our events as an individual or with friends. There is no commitment to come weekly required and we welcome beginners. **How it works** We meet at the venue to organise teams and for everyone to get to know each other. Here is where we meet: [https://www.socialsportsmix.co.uk/regents-park-football-and-rounders](https://www.socialsportsmix.co.uk/regents-park-football-and-rounders) This is a friendly game with no hard tackles or aggression! We will play for 60-90 minutes depending on how we all feel and there will be a half time. There is no pressure to stay for the entire event and you can leave early if you need to. If there is no Goalkeepers, players who are willing to go in goal will rotate every 8 mins. We recommend you bring shinpads and water. We usually go for drinks in the pub or have a picnic in the park after. **Free or play for charity** Our football events are free for everyone. The organisers volunteer their time and fund for the equipment, public liability insurance, marketing and meetup costs to make this happen. We would like our events to raise awareness and money for worthwhile charities. If you appreciate our events, please consider making a donation on our fundraising page. Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) and Role-Playing Games Evening!
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) and Role-Playing Games Evening!
Local Dungeon Masters/Games Masters will be running three or four games every Tuesday. These will be straightforward "turn up and play" games, where pre-generated characters will be provided for you - All you need to bring is your imagination! Ideal for newcomers, but more experienced players absolutely welcome! Please note that we will increase the Meetup cap upwards from 10 once we have sufficient volunteer GMs for this event. Please turn up from 6:30pm so we can arrange into groups just before 7:00pm and be ready to start rolling dice. *We can't guarantee your place at a table if you arrive after 7pm.* **NEW:** On arrival, please find one of the event hosts and let them know you are present, so we can check you in. *(And tell us your name! Some of us aren't great at remembering names/faces)* Attendance for players will be £8.00 payable to The Ludoquist. It's also worth mentioning that, if you sign up with a guest and find yourself on the waitlist, Meetup will often move individuals off the waitlist before you as spots become free. This is less than ideal but is out of our hands unfortunately. For this reason (among others), we recommend you and your guest sign up for the event individually. **Ludoquist RPG Code of Conduct** We will always do our best to make sure games are safe and fun spaces for everyone, and we ask that players do the same. Respect your fellow players: * Try to ensure everyone has a chance to speak. * If you feel unwell on the day of the event we ask that you don't come along, and mark yourself as *"Not going"*. * Never be disparaging or insulting towards other players - conflicts between characters can be good, but conflict between players never is. The following topics will never be introduced in games organised by The Ludoquist, and we ask that you don't introduce them either. * *Sexual assault* * *Slavery* * *LGBTA+ discrimination or harassment* * *Racism* * *Harm to children* * *Cancer, dementia, or other serious real-world illness* If you have a specific trigger or phobia that you would like to not occur in play please let your GM know. All our GMs are happy to oblige. In general swearing is entirely fine but if a player asks that it's toned down, please do so. Please do also be aware that The Ludoquist is a public venue, and language used should be appropriate to that and please be aware of any neighbouring tables.

Sunday Dungeons & Dragons Meetup
Sunday Dungeons & Dragons Meetup
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO TAKE PART? You just need to RSVP using the button on this page, and show up on Sunday. That is true for both DMs and players. You must be 18+ to attend. If this is your first time or looking to join a game, please find the Sunday Hosts Edward or Jason on your arrival. We will point you towards a game you can join. **Unless you have spoken to Jason or Edward beforehand about reserving tables/rooms at the pubs, you are NOT allowed to do so. I cannot state the importance of being able to rotate the availability of the rooms with other attendees/general pub goers in case the Pub needs them.** **The rooms should only be used by attendees who have a group plus DM or attendees who are DMing on the day. Otherwise I will assign you to the tables around the pub. This is non-negotiable.** TIMES Please ensure you arrive between 12:30pm and 1.00pm. **If you arrive later than 1pm, it may not be possible to find you a game.** I'VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE, IS THAT A PROBLEM? Nope! You do not have to have previous experience of D&D or another tabletop role-playing game. We will have newbie-friendly games on Sunday. WHAT DO I HAVE TO BRING? Nothing. If you have dice, paper and pencil, and a Player’s Handbook, then bring them, but it’s not a problem if you don’t. We can lend you everything you need including a pre-generated character. I'M NOT FROM THE UK, THAT ISN'T A PROBLEM, RIGHT? Actually, we have loads of members from other countries; at times, we’ve had more ex-pats than Brits. We get a lot of people joining who’ve just moved to London from another country, left their old D&D friends behind, and who are looking for a new gaming group, so you don’t need to worry about not fitting in. The one catch is that your English does need to be OK. You don't have to be perfectly fluent, but roleplaying’s a language-based activity and if your listening isn't decent you may have trouble following what’s going on. Lots of our members speak more than one language, but we can't guarantee that we can place you in a game with someone who can interpret for you. DUNGEON MASTERS We are always on the look-out for DMs. If you would like to run a game, please PM Edward_w or Jason Sia. HYGIENE & ANTI-COVID GUIDELINES If you are symptomatically ill or suspect/know you have caught covid in the last 10 days but are asymptomatic, please do NOT attend. Please wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth and/or a face shield whenever possible. This is not a rule, merely a request. Please avoid sharing food. Please wash your hands and/or use hand sanitiser gel frequently. Please maximise social distancing where possible and keep social mixing to a minimum. If you test positive for covid after attending an event, please contact Zander the Meetup Organiser, immediately. If possible, please let Zander know your Dungeon Master's name. If your venue has stricter rules than those outlined above, please follow those rules. **VENUES AND MONEY MATTERS** There is no charge, membership fee or subscription. However, a collection tin may be circulated by the Organiser/Assistant Organiser/Host towards the running of the Meetup. There is a recommended donation of £2 cash per attendee (DM or player), but contributions are purely voluntary: you are under no obligation. We do not track or record who donates what (and for that reason, donations by Paypal etc are not accepted). **The venues are businesses and, as such, rely on us spending on food and drink while we are there**. Our continued use of the venues is dependent upon it. Please spend as much as you reasonably can; if you are thinking of having lunch at your venue, please do. The venues have vegetarian and vegan options. Please do NOT bring drink from outside except tap water in a transparent plastic bottle. Please do NOT bring food from outside. Bringing food or drink (except tap water) from outside can result in you being permanently banned by the venue's management. Guide dogs are absolutely fine. Other dogs and pets may not be permitted subject to the discretion of the Pub Staff & Organisers. If you have any questions, please post it in the comments below or PM Edward_w or Jason, the Sunday Hosts.
