About us
Unplugged Commons hosts analog social events that break the spell of the screen. Tech companies design devices to captivate and addict us, and those screens stole our common spaces. We push back.
We curate multiple unique events every week. These gatherings range from board game nights to karaoke, and they all aim at one goal: genuine, face-to-face connection. You do not need to know the rules to join in. Our expert Teachers run games at our events to help you learn the ropes and start playing immediately.
We reclaim our shared spaces.
Step away from the screen, grab a drink, and join the resistance today.
What to Expect at an Event
Welcoming Faces: We actively make sure newcomers find a game and a group quickly.
The Teach: We feature a specific game at our events, and one of our Teachers will teach you exactly how to play it.
Analog Only: We encourage everyone to keep the phones in their pockets and stay present in the moment.
All Unplugged Commons events are ticketed through our website. RSVPing here on Meetup saves your spot on the list. Your ticket is what gets you in. Grab it at unpluggedcommons.com/shop before you come, so we can plan the tables and games around who's actually showing up.

UNO Tournament in Rowlett
Ollie’s Azul House, 3410 Main St, Rowlett, TX 75088, USA, Rowlett, TX, US🎟️ THIS EVENT IS TICKETED. Your Meetup RSVP doesn't include a ticket.
Get your ticket here or pay at the door with cash or card.
Here's the thing that makes this different from every tournament you've sat out half of: nobody gets eliminated. Ever.
Three rounds, everyone plays all of them. Win your table and you move up one. Finish last and you move down one. That's it.
Your night doesn't end at 7:45 because you got Draw Four'd by a stranger.
By round three, Table 1 is the strongest four players in the room, playing in the middle while everyone else finishes their own table.
Winner gets bragging rights and the prize pot.
Also: one Wild in every deck is the CHAOS CARD. Play it on someone and they don't draw four — they draw from the Commoners Chaos deck instead. What happens next?
Chaos, obviously.
$10 entry. Winner gets the pot.**
**Once the prize pot exceeds $200, pot splits between first and second.
