Welcome my fellow travellers! We are looking to provide you with options to travel to amazing places with me & my fellow like-minded guides. The trips would involve a mash-up of urban exploring and comfortable nature trails & hikes planned & designed by us to ensure that you have a great time & have a more holistic experience.

There is also a strong emphasis on sustainable travel and hence a strong preference to use trains & buses (where possible).

    Discover the magic of the Black Forest in spring, when this iconic region in southwestern Germany transforms into a true hiking paradise. Trails wind through ancient pine forests, rolling hills, and meadows bursting with wildflowers, offering a perfect escape into nature.
    As you hike along well-marked paths, enjoy the peaceful sounds of the forest, the fresh scent of pine, and the beauty of sunlight filtering through the trees. Along the way, you may encounter hidden waterfalls, scenic viewpoints with sweeping valley views, and charming villages that reflect the region’s rich culture and traditions.
    After a rewarding day on the trails, relax with hearty local cuisine—from traditional sausages and rustic dishes to the famous Black Forest cake—before settling in for another day of exploration in one of Germany’s most enchanting landscapes. 🌲🥾

    WHAT IS THE PLAN?

    • Day 0 (Wednesday) - Meet & Greet in Freiburg: Meet your guide and the rest of the participants outside Freiburg train station and then head to the accommodation or if you are arriving earlier or later, can meet directly at the accommodation in Freiburg. Note: We would be staying in Freiburg for the next 3 nights
    • Day 1: Discover Triberg (Cuckoo Clock Capital of the world) - We take a train to Triberg from Freiburg that is considered one of the most beautiful train journeys in Germany. Once in Triberg we do a short hike to get to the world's biggest cuckoo clock and also discover the area around the waterfalls. Once we have explored Triberg, we head back to our accommodation in Freiburg.
    • Day 2:Hiking Feldbergsteig - Post an early breakfast, we catch public transport to get to the starting point of Feldbergsteig hike. Today we would be hiking to the summit of the Feldberg, the highest mountain outside of the German alps . Once at the summit, we capture the stunning sights of Black forest before grabbing a bite/drink at the historic huts and possibly having a “black forest cake” (if they have not already sold out of it) before heading down and catching public transport to get back to our accommodation in Freiburg. For those that are interested, once back at Freiburg and post dinner, we head out for a few drinks in Freiburg.
    • Day 3:Explore Baden-Baden & hike the Panaromic trail + Caracella Baths (optional) + Baden Baden Casino (optional) - Post breakfast & checkout, we head to Baden-Baden to explore this beautiful town filled with stunning French architecture along with a hike that takes you along ruins from the Middle Ages, offering a unique panoramic view of Baden-Baden and the Rhine valley. Post the hike, we head back to Baden-Baden and say our good bye's to everyone that is heading back home and for the rest that are staying over for in Baden-Baden you have the option of either visiting Caracella baths (100% recommended) or just taking a stroll in Baden-Baden and then meeting up for dinner later. Post dinner we visit the famous Baden -Baden Casino that combines style, history, exclusivity and elegance like no other casino and is one of the most traditional casinos in Europe. Experience the fascination of gambling in one of the most beautiful casinos in the world.
    • Day 4 (Monday): Exploring Heidelberg & heading back home- Post breakfast & checkout, we head to Baden-Baden train station where we say our good byes.

    WHY GO?
    Discover picturesque sandstone rock formations and small mountain villages, with lovely Upper Lusatian houses (Umgebindehaus) and half-timbered houses. The Zittau Mountains have a history of the wonderful world of legends and fairy tales. Hike up and along the sandstone cliffs with a and get stunning views across the national park. Visit three different countries (Germany, Czechia & Poland) in one day, and see the beautiful spa town of Oybin with its castles and monasteries, before heading back to the baroque town of Zittau on one of the country’s oldest, narrow-gauge steam-powered railways. If you’ve been to Saxon Switzerland and wanted more, then this is the day trip for you.
    WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?

    • Zittau Mountains: The famed, smallest low mountain range in Germany, resemble that of Saxony Switzerland with their massive basalt peaks and sandstone cliffs.
    • Zittau Mountains Nature Park: Lush beech forests, filled with beautiful and historical villages.
    • Oybin Abbey and Castle Ruins: 16th Century, Romantic-era ruins that look out across the town of Oybin.
    • Zittau: The historic town is located in Upper Lusatia at the foot of the Zittau mountains where Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic meet, and its history goes back 750 years.
    • Three Country Border: See where the nations of Germany, Czechia, and Poland intersect.
    • Zittau narrow-gauge railway: Historic, narrow-gauge railway that connects the spa towns and castles to the sandstone mountains.

    Starting Location and Time:

    • Option A: Berlin Central Train Station (Berlin Hbf) - Meet your local guide at 7 AM.
    • Option B: Zittau Bahnhof - Meet outside the train station at 11 AM.

    Finishing Location and Time:

    • Option A: Berlin Central Train Station (Berlin Hbf) at 8.30 PM.
    • Option B: Zittau Bahnhof at 5PM.

    Hiking Difficulty: Hard.

    Let’s discover Germany’s wild north! We hike along endless stretches of unspoilt beaches framed by the baltic sea and ghostly forests. Together we wander through a UNESCO heritage forest sitting on top of dramatic chalk cliffs that plunge into the emerald waters of the Baltic Sea.
    WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?

    • Jasmund National Park: Famous for containing Germany’s largest chalk cliffs & UNESCO heritage beech forest. Germany's smallest national park has formed an image of unspoilt wilderness. Here the largest contiguous beech forest in the Baltic Sea region is protected and in it an amazing variety of different habitats in a small space. More than 100 moors, lakes, springs and streams are framed by venerable beech forests.
    • White Chalf Cliffs: The glowing white rocks consist of 70 million year old chalk. Nature has piled them up from the skeletons of countless single-celled creatures that the Cretaceous sea once left there. The highest point of the chalk coast is the Königsstuhl, which towers 118 meters above the beach.
    • Sassnitz: Sassnitz is a resort town on the German island of Rügen. It’s home to the submarine HMS Otus, now a naval museum.

    Start & End Date: Saturday, 23 May.

    • Option A: Meet in Berlin Central Station at 7:00 am.
    • Option B: Meet outside Sassnitz Train Station at 11:45 am.

    • Option A: Berlin Central Station at 10:30 pm.
    • Option B: Sassnitz Train Station at 5:45 pm.

    Hiking Distance: 14 km forest trek.
    Hiking Difficulty: Easy / Intermediate – Hiking at relaxed pace with multiple break times on well-marked paths, minimal elevation, sure-footedness & good fitness required.
    Kid Friendly: Yes.
    What is Included?

    • Community Guide for the entire trip (Guide speaks English).
    • Guided hike of Jasmund National park.
    • All public transportation for this trip from the meeting point to the finishing point (Based on your ticket option).

    Other Things of Note & Items to Pack:
    Weather is temperament and can vary between raining & sunny weather. Would recommend the following at a minimum (can further advise on this in the WhatsApp group for the confirmed participants):

    • Packed lunch for break during hike.
    • Good shoes for forest hike (no need of hiking shoes).
    • Rain jackets (based on weather conditions).
    • Rain trousers.
    • Suitable day pack.
    • Sun protection.
    • Sunglasses & Hat.

    WHAT IS THE PLAN?
    7:00 am - Meet in Berlin Central Train Station.
    7:30 am - Catch train for Sassnitz starting with RE 3 to Stralsund.
    12:00 pm - Arrive in Sassnitz and head to Sassnitz bus station to catch bus (Bus 23) to Königsstuhl.
    12:10 pm - Arrive in Königsstuhl and start hiking.
    2:00 pm - Take a break for lunch in a beach location.
    2:30 pm - Continue hiking.
    4:30 pm - Arrive in Sassnitz strand area and get something to eat.
    5:30 pm - Head back to Sassnitz Train Station.
    5:45 pm - Arrive in Sassnitz Train Station.
    5:54 pm - Catch train for Berlin starting with RE9 to Stralsund.
    10:30 pm - Arrive back in Berlin Central Station.

    Experience an idyllic adventure as you explore the serene beauty of Liepnitzsee, one of Brandenburg’s clearest lakes, resembling the tranquil landscapes of Swedish and Norwegian lakes. This guided trip covers a 13-kilometer journey through lush beech forests, culminating in a community picnic, scenic breaks, and an optional swim.

    WHAT IS THE PLAN?

    • 9:00 AM: Meet in Berlin Hbf train station and wait for train.
    • 9:30 AM: Catch train for Bernau (RE 3) and then bus (Bus - 894) from there to Wandlitz.
    • 10:30 AM: Arrive at Wandlitz and meet the other participants that are joining directly from here. We will then do a short introduction (Why are you here? Which animal would you be?). We start our hike by walking through the forest from Wandlitz to Liepnitzsee.
    • 01:00 PM: At the North peak of Liepnitzsee we will have a picnic on the beach. Here you will have the opportunity to relax & chill.
    • 02:00 PM: After our break we continue to walk along the shore of Liepnitzsee, stepping by “Regenbogensee” until we circled the whole lake once.
    • 03:00 PM: At Brauhaus Wandlitz we will enjoy some food and cold drinks and reminisce about the day. There is a Veggie-friendly Menu. If you like beer, you will love this place! They have different sorts of home-made beers.
    • 04:30 PM: Arrive back at Wanlitz train station and proceed to bus stop to catch Bus (Bus 894) to Bernau and then onwards from there to Berlin Hbf.
    • 6:00 PM: Arrive in Berlin Hbf.
